Solution:

Send AL OTHER damaged vessels to ANOTHER port, leave only the damaged vessel in your repair yard.
This works wonders for me [:D][:D][:D]

In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is strength, in water there are bacteria.

So...I take it no one has any serious advise aye? [;)][8|]

Give it time. Nothing seems to happen forthe first few days but then things pick up. Also, move out any other damaged ships so that the port focuses on the CV. Can't prove it but it seems the ship with the highest SYS damage gets the most attention regardless of ship class so move the AK/APs somwhere else.

Of course ARs and Naval HQs help too. I can attest to this.
Interesting you bring this up. I am finding that the CVs don't repair as long as there are other damaged ships in port with them, even when the CV has twice the level of damage of any other ship. Apparently an AK with a backed up toilet takes priority over a CV with a bomb hole in the flight deck.

In my game I have two damaged CVs with a lot of other damaged ships in 8 size port with no yard. There are 4 ARs present. Both CVs have high SYS damage and both ARE repairing.

AKs repair faster IMO because they are easier to repair (lower endurance).

Wild Willie, you are right on as this definitely would work. The problem is, it requires a massive redistribution of ships and supplies...can you imagine this situation.

*Sailor1 wakes up one morning..."WHOA, where did all the ships go? The ports completely empty."
Sailor2: "Can't you see the Hornets over there repairing, everyone else had to leave."
Sailor1: "Well, that's more beer and broads for us then, aye."

I am noticing that my CV's aren't repairing at ports without ship yards, while some of my BBs are. Is there some rule that you have to have a repiar yard to lower sys damage on a CV?

Can you please provide a list of which CV's are damaged and which ports they are at [:D]
I thought this place was a empire, now im the last, I can't be sure...

The allies don't have 4 ARs in the entire pacific in the first months of the war. The allied player has a choice to stack up a bunch of ARs in SF to repair large ships, or spread them around to numerous ports. Either way, repair time is measured in months not weeks, even for only moderate damage (say sys damage of 15%). This is because you have the choice of repairing nearer the front, maybe with the help of 1 AR, or spend two months round trip sailing to and from SF.

Having a repair system that requires large amounts of ARs, even at big ports to repair doesn't make sense. A level 10 port should repair ships at break neck speeds at any level 10 port. It's what they are for and it is the reason players aren't allowed to ever upgrade to level 10 ports.

Also, the player can't designate some ships for priority as was the case in RL, like the repair in Saratoga (IIRC) between the battles of Coral Sea and Midway.

I've had CV's lose a point or two of SYS over the course of a week sitting in lvl 9 ports before with no AR present. There was a naval HQ there though...

"ike the repair in Saratoga (IIRC) between the battles of Coral Sea and Midway. "

Okay, you are now required to reread the whole of "The Thread" for that mistake... a WITP regular getting that one wrong. [X(]
