Release date ?

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Is the AI going to be improved? ;)

So far, the AI is greatly improved, especially as the Allies. Is it going to play as well as an experienced player? No, not really, but with a little supply help it plays a pretty solid game.

Is there a more accurate estimation about the release date now? [:)]

The game is looking great by the way. A definite buy for me. [8D]

I wish I could give you a better date but I can't at this point. We're in the home stretch but we're more than a few days and hopefully less than several months from being done.

Anytime before christmas works for me I suppose.

Sooner is of course nicer.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

We're close. I don't think Matrix gives out a release data until they have a Gold Master, but we think we're within weeks not months of turning in the Gold Master. That's my best estimate at the moment.

My friends and I can't wait.

We're still playing the old 1999 Axis and Allies game for PC because there wasn't any TCP/IP multiplayer on the originall GGWAW.

Since I saw that there will be in this new GGWAW, we'll probably be switching favorite strategy games to lan to this[&o]

I really liked the A&A LAN game as well.

WaW is a good bit deeper, but not too much.  Enough to make it my WW2 strategy game of choice over HoI2 (too detailed and time consuming) and SC2 (don't really care for the production system and I also like area-move games better).

I doubt I'll be playing WaW over the LAN though, since it takes a bit too much time for each turn and unlike A&A there are things that go on that are hidden (production, I assume diplomacy, research, etc.).  Maybe with a timer it is ok.  Also, I'm not sure what you can do while the other person is doing their turn, so maybe there is enough to keep you occupied.

PBEM however is great.  I've played WaW far more than any other PC game, and really look forward to this new version.

Ok, well I'm going to post this, even though I know there will be some naysayers.

When will we be able to purchase/download the game?

Actually, now looking at Joel's last post, I don't feel bad at all.

When when when?!
