True. Still, the majority of nearly 2/3 speak German and the origin of Switzerland is German. The Italian, French and Rumansh cantons were mainly conquered later. like most tribes in europe have been invaders once... The Swedish might also claim a relatedness with the Spanish and Portuguese, as the Visigoths (origined in Sweden) moved there after their loss of the old Tolosan Empire...
