v6 Released - BB Variant Out
Well, finally its done - the BB variant is out.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions and comments.
I hope you all enjoy playing this - it should be pretty functional vs the AI, although there are some things that will not happen when playing the AI, mainly ship conversions;
-USN BBs will not rebuild
-IJN CS->CVL conversions
-IJN CA AA or Hybrid conversions
-IJN DD AA upgrades (X turret removals)
I will release an 'AI friendly' versions of this scenario at some point, which will address these issues but also limit player options in PBEM somewhat.
The next priority will probably be the Enhanced BB Variant, followed by CV Variant.
Please leave any feedback or bug reports here or in my email.
PS: If anyone wants a PBEM game, drop me a PM!

RE: v6 Released - BB Variant Out
csatahajos caught two bugs, one of them pretty serious..
-New Orleans class ships were incorrectly listed as Northampton class
-Harima airgroup was assigned to Tosa
New version 6b up with these errors corrected. These errors only affected Scenario 42.
Incase anyone is considering this for PBEM, here the set of HR's I'd suggest (In addition to the two in the Scenario text);
-Allies can only form TFs offmap or on the West Coast
-Allies can not change orders or move any air units or TFs
-Allies can however change orders for the three US CV groups, Force Z and X, and the Dutch BC TF
-Japanese limited to 2 BB or CVL conversions at any time.
-Japanese limited to 4 CVE/CA conversions at any time.
-Japanese will withdraw KB from Hawaii by Dec 8th at the lastest (ie 1 day of strike)
In addition, a few general ones would be good, to keep LCUs where there supposed to be;
-No moving Kwangtung LCUs into China without paying PPs
-No moving Chinese LCUs into Manchuria (Japan) or Burma (Allies) without paying PPs
-No moving Thai LCUs into areas other than Thailand, Indochina, and Malaya.

RE: v6 Released - BB Variant Out
Juan, there are certain hidden, hard coded, tricks involved in converting/upgrading any type of ship to any type of CV. There are also (patch) things happening with respect to shipyard size requirements for certain, specific upgrades, to certain, specific ship types. If these are important to you, shoot me a pm, and I'll tell what I can.

RE: v6 Released - BB Variant Out
Looking forward to see these mods being completed. Hopefully, they will be done about the same time the second patch comes out by the end of the month (hint, hint [;)]). My first adventure into PBEM with WITP was with Iron Storm. I like "what if" mods that are relatively realistic. The more carnage, the better. [:D]

RE: v6 Released - BB Variant Out
Wow. I will be very excited to see the CV mods.
RE: v6 Released - BB Variant Out
Thanks for the enthusiasm guys. I make no promises on when the CV version will be out, but I'll do my best to put up some ship lists and other stuff ASAP.
Another updated version 6 is out. Again this only affects Scenario 42.
Version 6c
-Removed Force Z movement orders on Turn 1
-Removed damage from DD Encounter, DD Jupiter in Force X
-Corrected AA Guns for BB Harima (25mm Singles were all facing F)
-Changed Aircraft availability dates slightly (F4F-4 one month later, F2F-3, F4F-3A, B-26B available longer)
-Added one G3M2 Nell group to IJN (based at Tokyo, available 12/41 - 1/43)
-Modified one latewar FP group to arrive with M6A Seiran
-Modified several latewar FP groups to allow upgrade to E16/M6A
The Force Z/X changes were meant to be in v6b, but I forgot about them. The others were intended for v7, but I included them now as I had them worked out already.

RE: Alternate WNT Scenarios (v6 Released - BB Variant)
I'm certainly interested, but . . .
Any chance of getting the scenarios in a zip file? My computer won't open an rar file.

RE: Alternate WNT Scenarios (v6 Released - BB Variant)
I'll upload all the files as .zip to the fileserver later tonight.
Sorry, I completely overlooked that little detail, as I'm used to .rar myself.

While I am sure that JuanG will post the zip files soon, if you want a nice free utility for unzipping a lot of different formats, including rar, try 7-zip. That's what I have been using to unzip his files.

7-zip is good, so is just WinRaR - I use it handle both zip and rar files.
Ill have em posted up in a few minutes - check the first page.
They should be pretty easy to install - easiest method is to just grab the Complete pack plus the two art packs and unzip into AE folder.
The .zip files will be a little larger, as the compression isnt as good, but should still be manageable.
bb variant 6 cvl perseus
cvl perseus has no flight group juang. I googled her and she is a repletishment carrier. shouldn't she have an airgroup? not sure?
I like the changes you have made to stock.

RE: bb variant 6 cvl perseus
RN CVLs corrected to all arrive with airgroups - some had groups assigned but these had different arrival dates comapred to the CVLs themselves. The 3 CVLs affected by this arrive in '45 so its not gamebreaking.
Theres a couple of other bugs I've fixed for v7, still looking for more before I put another release out.
I'm also working on shifting some of the aircraft and airgroups around some more, particularly FAA, USN, USMC and IJN.
Im also going to be running some tests against CD guns to see if their performance is reasonable, and if not, to fix it.

Major Error in v6
I've found a pretty major mistake in the datafiles for Scen 41 and Scen 42 version 6.
The naval gun changes were not being applied completely, especially the new accuracy changes for BB and CA guns. These were only included for the Lexington 16in, the new UK 15in, and the IJN Echizen 16in and Yamato 18in. This -will- skew naval combat pretty badly.
These numbers were however, correct for Scen 40.
I will be posting Version 7 tommorow, which will address this and the following issues;
-Improvements to CD guns following a series of tests against them
-Replaced IJN 15.5cm CD guns with new type IJN 14cm CD guns (15.5cm not developed in Scenario)
-Addition of a pair of ARs (follow on Akashi class) to the IJN, one completed, one due 43
-Reduction of Japanese Naval Shipyards (still higher than stock, but not as much)
-Changes to availability dates of most FAA aircraft (more available)

RE: Alternate WNT Scenarios (v6 Released - BB Variant)
Version 7 is now out. This update affects everything except the Aircraft artwork and the Guadalcanal/Coral Sea scenarios.
Unless there are any serious bugs, this will be the final version until the release of the Enhanced BB Variant.
Ill be updating this post with some more information about the Enhanced Scenario in the following days.
