Wow. Two birthdays in one day for THREAD dudes. Happy Birthday, dudes! [8D]

Duuuuuude...
Hey T-

For your Birthday, I recommend you *not* consume Spanish cucumbers...

Update on Germany E. coli outbreak

Cucumbers from Spain are the source of the recent E. coli outbreak in northern Germany, the Hamburg Insitute for Hygiene announced on Thursday. The news came after the German Farmers' Association said earlier in the day that domestic produce was most likely not responsible for the outbreak.

The number of current, serious cases of Enterohaemorrhagic Escerichia coli (EHEC) infections was thought to have reached 138 on Wednesday, against a normal annual average of between 60 and 70 cases. Precise figures were impossible to ascertain, as some of the serious stomach infections might have been caused by other bacteria.

The outbreak has spread to Denmark, with one case confirmed by a hospital in Aarhus. The authorities in Copenhagen have announced at least six more potential cases of E. coli infection. The EU Health Commissioner John Dalli said on Thursday that potential cases in the UK and the Netherlands were being investigated.

Ten Swedes are severly ill and many more are suffering other effects from EHEC bacteria following the recent outbreak of the disease in Northern Germany. What is extraordinary with this outbreak is that it is only adults that have suffered complications (HUS).

Read and get back!!

(ed. Sure thing, "KOH". Just curious about something: I recall the old addage that you should not trust anyone in billiards / pool whose first name is a geographic landmark-e.g., "Minnesota Fats". Should you trust a banker whose name is an onamonapia for being kicked in the family bits? Something like "KOH!" would be what I'd say too...) [X(]

I am Mr. KOH Beng Seng Independent Non-executive Director Chairman of Bank of China Ltd, Hong Kong.

An Iraqi named Abrahem Hussein Raheem,a business man made a numbered fixed deposit of Sixty Five Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars only in my branch.
He died during a bomb blast in Iraq,After further investigation it was also discovered that Abrahem Hussein Raheem did not declare any next of kin in his official papers

(ed: that was careless of him. If I'm going to leave $65M in someone's bank, you'd at least think I'd take the time to put in my return address and so forth)

including the paper work of his bank deposit. And he also confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in my bank.

(ed: his driver? Wives? security agents? Guys who helped haul $65M in cash (must have been heavy)?)

So, Sixty Five Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come forward to claim it. I am sorry to have used this media to contact with you as i have to use this email for personal security reasons as adviced by my lawyer, so kindly send your response to my personal email below.

I am ready to share 50/50 with you if interested in this deal, kindly note that i have contacted you with a paid domain for security reasons so i need you to copy this email: kohbenghk@yahoo.com.hk of mine and send me your complete details if interested.

(ed: Right then. My complete details? Waist: 34, inseam 36, weight 195, height 6'1", shoe size 10.5-11, brand dependent. My left and right feet have a half size variation between them. I am partial to brunettes and like long walks on the beach.)

Your earliest reply will be appreciated as i state my email again for your perusal kohbenghk@yahoo.com.hk

Yours Truly,
Mr. KOH Beng Seng,
Independent Non-Executive Director

(ed: What irony! I'm an independent, Non-Executive Non-Director of a Risk Committee too!)

Chairman of the Risk Committee, Hong Kong.
Email: kohbenghk@yahoo.com.hk
Hmmm ... some points here;
1/ Andre, from your comments I take it that you're not realizing what gold mine you've hit [;)][:D]
2/ No one except from him knew of the deposit ... and then he says that his lawyer has advised him on this matter?
3/ Sure, his lawyer advised him to contact some random mail adress right out of the blue [8|] ...

ETA 1; I'm unwilling to split up the threesome spam cell I set up earlier, so this time I instead sent mr. KOHs contact data to crimepre@police.gov.hk. I'm sure those guys are willing to make the $65.000.000 split with him

ETA 2; Andre, have you spread your mail adress around at forums and such as you get so many of these? As I said, the last one I got was the first one for ~10 years. I (almost) never get these, but then I'm quite cautious about spreading my mail adress around.

Hiya Per-

Nice response, as expected. [8D]

I get more of this spam at my work account than anywhere else. I only average one to two a week. I rarely get them on my home accounts-the ones I've used for turn exchange from forums.

Heaven on earth. Birch Lake, Ontario. Drive up to International Falls/St. Francis, then into Red Lake, and fly out to Birch Lake on flying norsemen . Then it is fishing all day for 7 days in a remote camp. Did I mention heaven on earth yet? Northern Pike and Walleye till your hands hurt.

The first Northern Pike I caught was fun. I had just had my second cast of a new Mepps lure when it got stuck in the rocks. Frustrated I handed my rod to my brother and started walking down the line to retrieve the lure. Then the rock started behaving in a very unrock way, it started moving upstream. That night the whole family enjoyed a roughly 16in Pike for dinner (we didn't have a scale so can't say what it weighed). Even though that was nearly 30 years ago it remains my favorite fishing moment. Life is good[:)]

Catfish...yuck! Fun, but yuck. Go for the walleye....yum.

ever had true southern style fried catfish with hushpuppies and cole slaw? throw in a little sweet tea and it's heaven...[&o]

Been to International Falls and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA), growing up in MN fishing and hockey were mandatory exercises. [:)]

Hockey was not my favorite, as best I recall my position was board bumper [;)]

I hate catching Catfish, eating them is fine.

Kwik E Mart - I had some in Galveston when my little brother played in the Texas Bowl against Rutgers if that counts. We went down there sightseeing and had some at a little local shop along the coast. OUTSTANDING! I could eat that stuff everyday! It was fish and chips, with coleslaw, not necessarily a southern style I think. Does that make sense?

thegreatwent- I see you're fron Denver. Played football in college with a bunch of Colorado guys, and my best friend lives in Englewood (spelling). Wife is currently on her way to our church's camp SW of Denver. Sedalia maybe? We go over the pass to Pagosa Springs ever summer trout fishing. Not really the best fishing, but the experience and atmosphere is amazing. I like your pike story. I love catching pike. Not so much a fan of eating them because of the bones... but they're tasty. Nothing like drinking a beer, fishing, and not having a care in the world.

Shanelic- I am pretty certain we fly over LOW on our way to Birch Lake...the lake itself is not even listen on a large NAmerica Map, or Google Maps. I have found it on Google maps, just no name with it. Always wanted to fish LOW. I love flying over it in the little float planes.

The restricted limit is keeping us off LOW these days. So we head over to Devils Lake these days. Which IMO is better walleye fishing. EDoesn't look like its going to happen this weekend though. Poor weather is keeping the bite from happening. We'll be lucky to hit the mid-50's today and rain ain't helping the bite.

Funny LOW doesn't show up on Google. Try Warroad. Or just look at knob at the top of Minnesota.

Even where I so inclined, Spanish cucumbers have long since disappeared from store shelves in this country. Why do they water them with feces anyway? Seems odd...
