OK. Dan and I are simply dancing around presently. He moved his TFs down to Tarawa so I pulled Tanaka back tot he south and moved KB to a position behind Ponape. The CVEs then went across the rear of the Allies between Johnston and the Marshalls. Net result of the moves for the next day: NOTHING.

The only excitement was a clear shot at HMS Victorious by an I-Boats with 4 TTs. They missed: CRAP! Would have helped redress the Renkaku getting hit.

Already sent and have waiting the next turn. He moved his TFs back up towards Jaliut. Sum result: NOTHING!

Aww . . . and you said there would be blood!
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Sorry Captain. My opponent is not cooperating...

I forgot to Post here that due to a death in the family, I am flying to New York City tomorrow (Monday) and coming back on Wednesday afternoon. No turns during that time. We'll see if Dan can figure out what he is doing while I am away.

Might get some time to Post on the Forum so we'll see about that.

REALLY want to go to the Intrepid Museum! My son has threatened bodily harm to me if I go without him. Is it work it?

Just saw that we have climbed over 150,000 hits on the AAR. Wow. Not Dan's level but pretty darned good. Thanks for all the readership gang.

The Intrepid is absolutely worth it! IIRC, it's not close to any easy public transportation, so be prepared to cab / Uber / Lyft to and fro.

I went during Fleet Week, and they had a Slava class cruiser visiting next door. Cool ship, but it had carpeting all over the place.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you have a good visit with family.

The Intrepid is completely worth it. Some WW2 planes around inside mostly, and some cool US and Russian ones up top. IIRC I think it's the Top Gun F-14 Tomcat up there. [:)]

On a nice spring day it is an fair but nice walk through Hell's Kitchen from Times Square. If you like the exercise, there is now a bike trail that follows the water front all around Manhattan. So just head for the water and rent some bikes.

Appreciate the thoughts Gents. I am home and dead tired. Haven't done that much walking in my recent memory!

The INTREPID rocked! That was very cool and exciting to see. How about being at Chicago Midway Airport and walking out under an actual SBD suspended from the ceiling? Wow. If I wasn't busy connecting to my next flight I would have stayed and taken 100 photos. COOL.

Next week I will be visiting the Air Force museum in Ohio. I took a look at the online version and only two Japanese planes spotted in a few minutes of looking.

Got my first turn off to Dan since getting back. Did August 28th where I took back that little speck--Taongi--between Wake and Kwajalein. Destroyed frgaments of the 7th ID and a Base Force along with several PBY. Scratch that as an air search base. Kido Butai retires towards Rabaul.

Man--the trip really took it out of me. I was SO tired yesterday and then worked an 11 hour shift on top of it. My eldest (John--12) had his 6th Grade concert last night so we did that, went to Sonic for cheap shakes, and came home whereupon I collapsed into a coma!

Thanks for the B-Day Wishes. A completely sobering B-Day. How the HELL am I 50? Stupid. My DELIGHTFUL wife was all excited to get the mail when I came home. Asked why and she responded that maybe my AARP Card was waiting and we could begin to use it. Another example of PURE EVIL.

I haven't been to the Air Force national Museum at Wright-Patterson in several years, but two Japanese aircraft is what i remember being there. However, they have many early war American planes that are featured in WitPAE, so it is well worth it.

Happy birthday John. For some reason, 50 did not seem like a big deal to me, nor the ones up to 57. Can´t explain the difference, but 57 made me quake!

I thoroughly understand that sentiment.

The Ohio Air Force Museum I remember to be monstrous.

Wright-Patterson? Hmmm...may have to look at that.

Where is the CONFEDERATE Air Force located at now? YES--I know they changed their name but that was stupid to do. Will always see it as that name...
