No , he's right. And he's wrong. If no one goes any further than we have , and don't use this as a precedence for more of this kind, I think we'll be alright. I find his language more disturbing then our "skirting the edge" on the no politics rules. It's a matter of knowing where the boundries are , and NOT crossing them. We got close to the edge , in a way that should make all of us nervous (I know that I was , and tried to answer Leo's question from a historical/sociological point of view , not My personal opion on the laws and parties involved). And nervous we should be. We should all be nervous when approaching that line. And hopefully all recognize where the boundries are. (And I hope that I recognize the boundries and haven't crossed over due to a pain medication induced haze! [:D]).

Agreed. If I had a dime for every time a particular someone 'skirted the edge' of impolitic, brusque or downright affrontery language without such a massive overreaction from the THREAD denizens, I'd be a rich man.
Now, having said that, I'll go back to my OP on the topic and edit out my final comment / emoticon.

T hasn't been here in a long time. His interests have obviously been elsewhere for a while. C'est la vie. Best to him.

Steve,
I've dispatched several IJN cruisers towards your lines. They are wishing you well by conferring ancient Japanese remedy for backaches. Please do not interfere with their special delivery, as it may disrupt the 'chi' that they hope to bring to you. They wish to provide you with (eternal) peace, harmony and remove your backache, headache and all else that ails you. Soon you will be blissfully adrift, do not resist.

Yuri have seen the bill? [&:] Did you get a hold of a copy somehow? We've (most people I know in the DC area) have been trying to do that. Is it on line somewhere? It was promised that all legislation would be on line 5 days before signing , but I don't know anyone whose found it. If you or anyone out there can point me in the right direction, I'd be very , very greatful. [&:]
No. The points I mentioned were the consistent threads I've found in the various sources I read and listen to, while there is a lot of disagreement on the finer points. I imagine they'll post it fairly soon, or at least the more contentious parts.

Home with a messed up back tithe......[8|]
What did you do to your back, Steve? You can't be laid up. You have packing and moving to do! [:)]
No kidding![:(] And I'm supposed to start my househunting road trip! I've put off departure till Monday, and I'm babying it with ibopropen and a heating pad. It seems to be a problem with tension vice an actual pull, so I'm pretty sure things will be alright. I'm just going to force myself to take it easy this weekend. [:)]
I'm sure beer will fix ya right up. Feel better. [:)]

Well, he's right in the sense that it probably should have been replied to via PM. On the other hand, we (regular Threadians) are not children. We can usually draw the line for ourselves. I draw the line at when a conversation which might have a political topic turns into a debate. At that point I would say take it to PM. This would also exclude political humor. But as none of the replies crossed that line, I dont feel that that outburst was warranted (completely leaving aside the point that it was rude and just plain bad form). [8|]
