I played a rather wild game against the AI, and can tell you what to expect should you retake Karachi:

The overdue troops and planes will appear immediately, the ships will resume their interrupted countdown.

Thanks Naskra thats what I figured weird isnt it that the game trreats the RN as though its building all the ships not transferring them from other theatres.

I would like all the RN ships in the queu with less that 1,000 day delay set to arrive at Sydney or San Fran immediately please thats far more historic and I could really use the RN Carriers, BB's and especially Cruisers now !!!

In analysing my performance accross all games I have came to one inevitable conclusion I am sopmetimes to clever for my own good [:D][:D]

I have the strenght to sledgehammer every objective instead I try to be complicated in the name of speed.

Sometimes it works a lot of the time it doesnt.

A few notable failures/near failures to add to the litany of Genral Andy Mac

Kavieng
Rabaul (ouch !!!)
Wasile
Zamboanga
North Borneo
Iwo Jima

I do have this nasty tendency to try and run beofre I can walk partly its my desire to try and break through the lvl 9 fort crust before I realsied the crust is all there is ;)

But the main part is I just love convoluted multi part strategies...

I guess I need to relearn KISS and bring a VERY big stick...

OK Guys reality check assume PZB is producing 600+ Reppus a month have I got any chance at all (I assume all A6M series factories upgrade to Reppus ?)

I cannot match that from my number no way no how 144 Hellcats and 100 Corsais v thousands of Reppus. Between now and the end of the war the Japanese will produce more Reppus than all the Corsairs the 'mighty' US war machine can produce....

I think PZB is going to have a problem. His A6M5s will upgrade to A6M8s.. but those arent due yet. So he wont be able to autoconvert factories because he doesnt have the A6M8. So, if I understand it correctly he will have to build up A7M production, not autoconvert.

But.. thats just how I recall it. I could be wrong.

OK so I think I understand. If PZB gets Reppus in May he will only get the research factories converting to production.

In June/July when the A6M8 shows up all of his A6M5 factories will upgrade to A6M8 and then to Reppus.

So low produciton in May ramping up to massive levels in June/July.

OK if thats the case I still have a time window its narrow and my options just contracted but its doable. I need Midways, Bearcats and Sea Furies and I now need my missing 3000 Hellcats - but I will manage

Operation Coronet in on no more messing about I need to move and move now I need a base in range of the HI NOW.

Coronet is therefore getting a small change...

All forces will attack Toyohara no multi part fancy pants landing everything straight down the middle over the beaches right into whatever defences PZB has 18 Divisions in one massive landing - subtle it aint but so be it.

If PZB pulls a massive reinforcement of Toyohara I will switch targets and hit North Japan. Depending on which way I go 6th Army or 10th Army will spearhead.

But the fact is no messing about its gonna be a bloodbath well SO BE IT !!!!

p..s all TF's are now ordered from Midway to Marcus where they will refuel for the last time.

(it also helps confuse PZB as to my target)

I was hoping to wait for another week to try and get more ships back on the line but that is a luxury I cannot afford

Why Hongkong?

Post by frank1970 »

YOu will like it more, when your sledge hammer hits the Japanese defences.
You are a specialist in bloodbaths, so you have much more experience in committing everything and loosing lots of it. [:'(]

PzB will have garrisoned Japan quite good, so expect 1000AV behind level 9 forts. Can you land 9000 AV in one turn?

After the landing reppus won´t hurt you too much. Just put all your levelbomber on airfield attack and destroy every airfield around. Don´t forget to bring 400 Aviation support and a lot of Corsairs with you while landing. Thunderbolts won´t hurt either. And dont forget the medium bombers you have.

While attacking Japan, don´t forget to get Bonins. It won´t hurt to have more airfields to attack Japan´s industry.
Please try to interdict all troop transport into mainland Japan. I am quite sure PzB will bring each and every unit to defend the home islands. From China, from Phillippines, from whatever he still possesses. He might be able to build endless masses of planes, but he will be short on ships somewhen.

'bloodbath specialist' I need to get one of those graphical thingys for my sig [:D][:D]

I can land about 6,000 AV but only 3,000 AV is assault loaded so if I am facing 1,000 AV begind level 9 forts and PZB divides all his Divs to minimise my ground attack strikes I will struggle.

But so be it its time to roll the dice

Just do your attacks in Burma and Malasya. Would it be possible to do some feints at other bases, Hongkong or Okinawa.
How many ships has PzB left? Is it possible he could disturb your landings?
Maybe a trap to lure his fleet remnants out of their holes and sink them?
Can you attack at Iwo Jima and get the Bonins? Maybe you should just land a small part of your force on Iwo and clean the place. Then you can support your landing with B29 raids.
Could you attack Bonin more easily than Iwo Jima? maybe that would be the way to go.

How are your victory points? Have you reached a draw yet?

It's not fair, PzB could not miss it even if he wants to. And how to ignore it once you have read it.

Well after I clear up the Camranh bay pocket I will have more forces available for other missions.

However supply is an issue I am down to 250k and I need all that for finishing of the pocket and keeping the B29's supplied

A convoy with 300k supplies is en route but the Aussies and Yanks of the Malaya Army have worked hard and need a months break before future operations

Iwo is now well supplied with 2,000 AV behind lvl 9 forts and its mountainous so thats 18,000 adjusted AV no way no how is it falling If I threw the entire mobile US Army onto that island it is impregnable.

I only keep my forces there to make PZB keep his army there as well. After I have Toyohara I will probably evacuate my forces.

Bonin is also well garrisoned.

Re PZB's fleet he still has a strong surface TF and at least one carrrier

VP's I am now about 4,000 ahead 86:82k in order to draw I will need to have 1.75x PZB's VP's so I have a lot to do

As a matter of fact PzB should read it! It is free to him to believe whatever he wants.
Telling Andy he would get Reppus in a short time is about the very same, isn´t it?
