School boy error tithe.......[8|]

Just had a couple of days in the West Country (glorious Devon) and the weather was excellent; so much so that a lot of time was spent on the beach and in the sea.

Problem: I forgot to take my sunglasses off occasionally and now my face looks like a cross between a panda and a lobster.....

That's not a good look for starting my new job on Monday[&:]

so are you a panster or a lobda? [;)]

Yes, It was Anzio. I believe he hit pretty bad.

...and that's why he limped (although maybe not evident in all his screen work). BTW, his brother was Peter Graves, who passed away last year. Saw a TV special about James Arness couple of years ago. It was pretty good in case you see it running.

Yeah, I've been thinking about some of my memorable grade school teachers and middle school teachers with fondness. Some of them were pushing retirement, and that was many many moons ago. Time marches on, eh?

Thanks Mate... Anzio it was, knew it was an Army landing.

I would think that all thoughs Old Cattle Towns are a lot quieter now a-days.

I have fond memories of my visit to Dodge City during my cross country bicycle trip back in '85. The campground we stayed at had a membership at The Cowtown Club - a private restaurant/nightclub (IIRC this was the only way that they could serve hard liquor there). I was introduced to "calf fries" (the plains version of Rocky Mountain oysters). A great meal was enjoyed that night and a good time was had by all (but we didn't try to shoot up the town so we never ran afoul of the marshall).
fair winds,
Brad

Thanks for the Birthday congratulations that you gave me on the 6th of March ... today however, is my real birthday. [;)]

I'd like to share with you guys the birthday cake I made this morning. Contents are (apart from the cake bottom) vanilla cream, crushed pineapple, raspberry jam, whipped cream, sugared mandarin slices and Daim crunch. [:)]

Dang, I've been slack! Happy belated Birthday, Per!

Gosh; wonder if someone was there to look into his eyes while he turned the tap off. Good for Jack. Probably the best thing he could have done. RiH (roast in hell) Jack.

Have a dog report. Am having an epiphany about how dog brains work and just how they feel about going to new homes. It's a joy to the humans, but pretty darn stressful for the dog; its lost the sights and smells of its last home, and no matter how much love is in the new one, one must realize a new pup is lost. They want and need to do right for their person, but on day - one, it's more like "what the shoot do I do now, batman??"

Have a really good dog. He has Abby's eyes. Is settling in nicely. Totally botched his haircut, but gave him a bath, anyway. Hard to say whether he's annoyed about the bath, or embarrassed about the haircut.

I doubt if he's annoyed about the bath. [:'(]

Focus just on the eyes - he has that Clint Eastwood/Dirty Harry look. "Go ahead, hose-boy, spray me again. Make my day!"

Heh... I remember walking past the dog hairdresser (furdresser?) when somebody came out of with their newly-shorn pooch. Said pooch immediately relieved itself on the front step of the shop, as if to say, "here's what I think of you skills, bub!"...[:D]

My new 58" TV just arrived. Now I need a Blu Ray player and new HDMI cables, then I need to set up the internet connection. Yes, my TV connects to the internet.
