Hey, I was out doing my first driving training with my 15 year old daughter. We survived and no one or nothing non-animate was injured. Except for maybe the passenger floor board...

A brother in arms! I have been doing the same with my 17 year old daughter. She actually didn't want to drive at 15, but then, well, EVERYONE got their license and now she feels left out. So, a late bloomer. In Kansas, we have to have 50 hours of driving time logged for her in addition to driver's school, which is already done.

We are about half way done. She is doing well, but I still get white knuckles when we hit the on-ramp for an interstate --- she is just too damn polite and wants to wait for everyone and their uncle while in the merge lane.

Same situation. My son pulls up to the corner, signals for a right turn, and then CREEPS along into the turn. Meanwhile, that car a mile up the road to the left is roaring right along at high velocity. A little worried, I told my son " let's go"...and we went from 1 MPH to Warp 1. Then the speed cop in his trap pulls out, lights flashing. Pulls over Mr. High Velocity ( who was by now about to rear end us). Teen Age son has a heart attack when he sees the cop's light bar go off.

He may never get behind the wheel again [:D]

My 15 year old son has had his learner's permit since May. He's doing a great job, and will be fine to get his full license after a full year of driving with us. My wife, on the other hand may have several nervous breakdowns by then. [:D]

One lesson, one hour down. Made the mistake of letting my wife go along... Too much back seat comments!! I have convinced her to take our other car on the next trip to practice having another vehicle around. We are practicing on the weekends at a local middle school that has a road going all the way around it. No one is there on Saturdays.

Interstate driving is still 24 hours of practice away!

My wife insisted that I do all the training... Then she wanted to ride along... Not any more!

She says I am too aggressive in my driving. I explain to her it is assertiveness and not aggression. I don't have anything against the other drivers around me, I just want them to get out of the way! [:D]

All I hear about out of Denver these days is how people are staring at the clouds in general. Circular clouds with pastels from the sunset...you know, it's so beautiful, man! [takes a drag] Where are the chips? Plus, I've got cottonmouth goin' here too...

There are a few bunkers (have to be, to keep out the industrious and bored youth), but they are not as prolific as one might think.

The WSJ had a big piece yesterday about the problems with standarization in the 'products' being sold. Since there's no standardized national THC measurement / standards (it's still illegal nationally), there's been no homogeneity of product and comparatives / doseage and administration is impractical.

Who's going to pay for laboratory testing of product? The more costs you put into the system (taxes, registration, licensing, quality testing, etc.) the more likely to drive the market back underground. It's an interesting conundrum.
