Official hotfix to the official hotfix to the offical 1.03 patch for RUS is.... bugged of course. Fortunatly, this seems to be just an alert message appearing when turning on error logging option. [:)] AI log files shows no harm done to the turn resolution or AI computation. A minor annyance, not more.

Seprus is Seprus [:D]

Is there no beta-team to test the exes before made available?

Draw yourself the conclusion; the exe has for date of creation today... BUT at least this bug isn't altering the game, and the generic AI is in itself slighty better, which, combined to my AI events [:)] The first run I've done has just been marked by clever AI moves and the impression AI is better at organizing its stacks and using leaders...[:)]

Does it crash without error logging? I may start all over because in my my current game the Reds are in such a dire situation (NM=43, CP=46), and I can't see them bouncing back.

I'd set the AI detect bonus back to medium.

Btw, isn't detect bonus "cheating" too (re Meier)? [;)]

No. I've just tried : no message, no crash and log files normal... This message is just an alert for debugging purpose. Seprus has certainly removed the bug but not fixed the message trigger [8|]

AI detect bonus is a cheat of course. Now, this option ay be disabled by player, so I wouldn't place it in the same category than AI cheats unknown to player. Then, even if AI has more theorical knowledge about enemy forces, I would say AI being blind, it's just like if a third person would describe to it the map orally in a foreign language [:)]. With such FOW bonus, an human player will avoid to be surprised when the AI will from time to time not be surprised [:D]

For FY, after all, you have won against Red AI at the end of 1921 with a +1 FOW bonus. So the AI may be a REAL opponent even with this slight bonus, considering nex version will have for human or AI Reds NM balanced a bit [:)] I'm keeping a +2 for my own, as I know my AI, but this level isn't as mandatory than in the last months. Let's say +2 is for players used to AI in FY [:)]

Fatal Years is now almost ready. Don't expect many new changes in the next weeks, the games played as REDs and Whites showing the mod is playable ( and enjoyable). Of course, any bug or glitch will be fixed, but I guess major ones are now gone.

Fatal Years is working only currently for the Grand Campaign scenario. In September, I would want to improve the AI in the Finnish Civil WAR, Russo-Polish war and the Drang nach Osten ones.

If some have interest for the Ice March, november 18 and May 19 scenario, let me know. I don't have any intention to mod these, but if asked ;-)

August will be entirely reserved for modding AACW :-)

I second that! Continue it through to June 1918 when the main Grand Campaign starts - that would be really good.

Right, new hotfix up, gonna reinstall 1.03, get latest FY mod. Started playing Rise of Prussia over last few days, needs more time and for me more understanding of Seven Years War. I agree with Jyri, RUS is probably one of the best Ageod games I have played - need a good strategic head. Really enjoyable and challenging.

I've done the AI files for ROP 1.03 too [;)] But it was a very prelimibnary work, especially for Prussian AI. When AACW mod will be done, I could possibly enhance ROP AI too with all the features I've learnt with Fatal Years. [:)]

I started a new GC and some leaders have reverted back to the generic images. Is this a mod glitch, or a problem with the simplified install process?

Reinstalled the mod, but nothing changed. Should I make a clean install of it all?

Man I suck at this. Wrong destination folder. I thought it selected the correct one automatically. [:o]

ROP modding will be quicker than RUS, AACW too BTW, as maps are smaller and my AI doctrine pretty much in its final form. I need yet to think about AI behaviour during winter mainly, and I'm waiting commments on the last version to verify if last changes are right. Of course, I don't forget AI in ROP must have a different winter behaviour than in RUS, but I know how to [:)]

This is great! I look forward to it.

Bear in mind: My ROP Weathers Mod

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?p=213782#post213782

will be incorporated into the next official ROP patch (due out soon). Winter weather will be much more sensible, and not so variable as before. Maybe it will be easier to program the winter AI as a result.

(Oh, and I've been asked to redo the NCP weather, too. [:)])

No problem with an "unclean" install after I made sure the folder was right. Sorry about cluttering this thread with needless stuff.

Don't be sorry [:)]
At least, here threads are actually commenting gameplay and discussing strategies. I know 2 forums where threads are exclusively filled with:

- bugs report
-ackward GUI explanations
-other subjects.

The first is RUS and the second is PON. [8|]

I've always considered a good wargame may be discerned at once when the forum has thread about gameplay and in-game strategies, whatever low or high is the traffic, or the number of bugs mentioned....

Oh, I've no clue, info or anything tangible, but I wouldn't be so surprised if PON is the last AGE game.

:( Well maybe Age 4.0?
