Shouldn't happen because they are Vindicators, but he might think you loaded them on a CV to supplement their strike (if Vindicators are even CV capable).

No, I think Cribtop is being over cautious for some reason. He knows Mini-Death Star is still in Java. Either that or he has big plans in Solomons and further south. I now have PBYs at Luganville with 2 AVP, another in Ellice Islands, and then over to east at Canton Island. That will give me some warning, but I'll have a gap in Coral Sea area. I'll have to move a PBY group to Rockhampton to cover it soon.

China is going to be ugly Jocke. I'm sending troops from almost everywhere to 'try' to get to Ankang before the Japanese. See most recent screen shot to see all those small arrows headed in that direction. I have a feeling I'll have to abandon everything in eastern China very soon. [X(] Right now, just about every hex has somebody headed to Sian and then Ankang. His tank regiments broke the Chinese to allow his infantry to pursue.

Interesting idea to have % chance of releasing Russia early depending on reduction. IIRC the old Pacific War game increased the garrison requirement over time.

I agree there is too much VP booty in China that is too easy to get, but I am not sure it will be designed out. In our current mod, we tackled it by increasing allied VP's for pacific bases.
Works for us because the empire can still get those VP's but they are located elsewhere.



IRL Japan was too worried about the Russians coming in if they weakened their defenses to the degree a Japanese player does in AE. I almost feel the need for Russia to be activate at start to prevent China from being overrun in early '42.

Interesting idea to have % chance of releasing Russia early depending on reduction. IIRC the old Pacific War game increased the garrison requirement over time.

I agree there is too much VP booty in China that is too easy to get, but I am not sure it will be designed out. In our current mod, we tackled it by increasing allied VP's for pacific bases.
Works for us because the empire can still get those VP's but they are located elsewhere.



IRL Japan was too worried about the Russians coming in if they weakened their defenses to the degree a Japanese player does in AE. I almost feel the need for Russia to be activate at start to prevent China from being overrun in early '42.

If this is a concern for the players, why not just increase the Manchukuo garrison level to say - 9000 or 9500? It seems strange that in an alternate-reality game there is a desire to place restrictions on which theaters the players can or should be fighting over.

The issue is that the IJA player can buy out all the planes, heavy artillery and tanks in Manchukuo and the Chinese have no answer to these weapons.
The artillery has no AV and the tanks can be replaced by relatively small infantry units to keep the AV count stable in Manchukuo.
Since the anti-armour and artillery counterbattery (and flak) values are too low in the Chinese units to make the contest realistic, I think just boosting the Chinese units enough to slow down the steamroller is one way to prevent the early conquest of China.
