Well, with the longer first turn length and somewhat better weather in both turns, the Axis in Nordic 2 are going to be rather ahead of where we are in Nordic 1. Let's hope things even up a bit to frustrate their second phase plans.
warspite1

To be honest I've mentally given this game up as lost already. Now as we know there is lots of wargaming to go and they may end up getting shafted too somewhere along the line, but at the moment the difference in the two games is really quite stark. Just got to keep plugging away and hope.....

And to be honest the whole luck thing can become a bit of a downer. So I have resolved personally not to mention it again in any of the games.

This fine weather in the November/December turn is a bit of a killer.

I don't think all's lost by any means. If the weather socks in and stays poor until M/J 40 (as has happened in at least a couple of games when I'm playing Axis) then the Axis are back to the historical timetable.

I think we may need to consider 'Fortress Bayonne' by the CW rather earlier than I was hoping.

Don't get me wrong I will continue to do my best to win it, but I'm conscious that it needs the Axis to hit problems - and pretty quickly - the Chi Comms are almost finished..

If you can get the remaining ChiComms back to the mountains, they should be in with a chance or surviving once winter does set in.

Evening old bean,

Nordic 2

Just wondering what the French plans for defence are? Will they be advancing into Belgium alongside the CW to shorten the line?

CW will take a combined to move the BB's at Plymouth into the North Sea for defensive bombardment. Also want to ship an INF to Somaliland to counter-invade down there.

Nationalists will continue to withdraw in the centre.

Not sure it matters too much, but I guess its as good as anything. I think the thing to be certain of is that naval units are left in the North Sea at all times i.e. end of turn. With France falling over in a couple of turns its vital the CW don't lose loads of aircraft and infantry for nothing. They are going to need them.

Put Admiral 'ABC' Cunningham in charge. He won't let the army down.

Any air operations by France? I'll get the impulse rolling and hand over to you for land movement.

Game 3

Germany will do a combined but it won't amount to much. Sub to Biscay, a rail move and that will be about it.

Game 4

No air orders. I was considering pre-emptive ground strikes but that is probably not sensible at this stage of the turn.

Afternoon old chap. I've put a suggestion to Omrster for Game 1. The sides are hugely uneven in terms of responsibility once the US come into the game. The Free French are small but are better served being operated by the CW which leave the other Ally with just the Soviets and a few Chi Comms (and in our Game 4 probably only the Soviets!). So all things being equal are you happy for me to take the Chinese once the US come properly into the game?

Certainly old boy.

It saves on the E-mails as we would probably want to coordinate efforts anyway!

You can take over now if you want. Just remember Stilwell also counts as a US Secondary Supply source and can be used to base 2 US units in China at some point.

Nordic 1

Hello again old chap. Looks like we're going first this turn. Can you let me know your intended timescale for looking at Germany just so we can co-ordinate? I'll probably do a land with the Japanese to (hopefully) take advantage of the weather (and will bring any reinforcements I have over to China later), but will look closely at whether Italy should be brought into the fray.

Good evening my dear old thing,

Nordic 1

It's safe to say Germany will be doing a land. I'll DoW Belgium and see how they set up. I think I will probably drop an O-chit on Rundstedt to knock the old grenouilles about a bit and get into their lines while the weather is good.

Have you decided on the Italians?
