RE: WotY Attempt #1
I finally got my RR arty up to the front lines and I can begin the attacks seriously now. My units are rested and ready they just need some prepatory arty treatment of the target hex for a couple of rounds, depending on how much supply the arty tubes use up. I don't want to let them get below about 50% or so because I'm going to use them for defense during the Soviet turn.

RE: WotY Attempt #1
I found an SS unit that had heavy losses last turn and now this turn it doesn't have any trucks at all and it's still in reorg so it's not going anywhere soon. I need to let it rest where it's not in an enemy ZOC and it'll fatten up faster. I need it fatter because it's a far drive to get to Murmansk and that's where his group is headed.

RE: WotY Attempt #1
My morale officer found a good YouTube video that he wanted to share with the troops and I saw the timestamp on this video and asked him to wait about 70 years pretty please.

I did a save game and then zipped up the file and attached it here below. You can download it and unzip it and load it as a saved game and look at all the reports and the dialogs and move the units around maybe. Or take it from here on your own.

Here's an element of the 10th Panzer Division who were acting as taxi's giving a ride to a squad from the 206th Infantry Division as they ride on the top's of the tanks. They have just arrived at the assembly point so the tanks have stopped to discharge their cargo's and then continue on to the fuel depot to top off their tanks just before leaping into the frey.

RE: WotY Attempt #1
Here's a typical section of the front lines currently and this is the story about supply all up and down the front lines....it's okay around the rails feeding the area but away from the rail it's not adequate (at the fringes) and operations are going to have to halt to allow the supply to improve a little bit. Most of the progress is being made in the south anyway.

Wargammer of the Year Attempt #1
Here's the northern front lines currently showing that I'm still hot on the trail of getting the port of Leningrad. I have repaired the rails up to the front lines up there and have brought in all the RR arty and I've got them bombarding every turn contingent on ammo. I'd like to keep a 50% supply level in the RR arty because I'm using them for defense during the Soviet turn. The idea is to decimate the Soviet stacks between me and the city.

I clicked on the show-me-the-weather button and I wasn't surprised to find all kinds of raining and snowing and really awful weather out there. Well, those pilots knew what they were getting into when they signed up. I'm wondering if I should just stand down the flyboys for all the good they might do out there.

The RR arty is making a difference. I've liquidated a large stack of Soviet units and I'm just about to gain the hex and take on another stack.

Wargammer of the Year Attempt #1
The supply levels are slowly getting better especially in the north where the rails are already at the front lines in some places. The Soviet Winter Offensive is going to start around T49 or so and I'm not quite ready for it yet. The Soviet shock is going to go up to 120 for 10 turns and my shock is going to drop to 90 and the Soviets are going to go berserk for about 10 turns. I have to limit my attacks during the month of November because I need the units to be full of supply and health so they will stand their positions like I need them to. Everybody is going on three-dots and I'm going to put the bombers on CS only and the fighters have been on three-dots from the beginning and I would put the bombers on three-dots too but I'm running low of bombers. This is the wrong time to be running out of bombers.

Here's what the Crimea looks like now. I'm not sure I'm going to make the Dec. 4 deadline for capturing Sevastopol but I'll give it a try. Those Bulgarians would be really handy on the front lines.

Here's a spot in the front lines that I've been working on for a while now and there's a Mexican standoff going on currently. I have high hopes that I can kill the small group in the pocket I've formed and then maybe I can blast a hole and straighten up the front lines better.

Here's the northern front lines currently. I've scheduled some attacks to try to get closer to the port at Leningrad and I've got the RR arty backing up the attack. I can't seem to get the ships close enough to the coast near the attack so I guess I need to take some ferry engineers to get out to the island blocking the ships and captuare the place. If possible.

RE: Wargammer of the Year Attempt #1
Those folks way down south are still hurting for supply and I can't move or shoot them lest they turn red. As long as they are green I can move and shoot them but without supply they would soon be in trouble with their supply level and I'd rather save them for an emergency. The SWO is about to start and I'm not nearly ready for it. I've sections of the front line to straighten out and gaps I need to man and weak spots that I need to fix. There's always something to do each turn. The front lines are dynamic and constantly moving, attacking, digging in, defending, all of which costs supply and there's not a lot of that around where the front lines have ended up currently. I may have to pull back DURING the SWO and I hope not. Pestilence effects are in operating since this is the middle of November, three cold fronts in a row and the ground should freeze soon and the Axis supply net will be restored...that's the theory.

Here's the zoomed out view of the front lines and I see a straight line except for the lower-middle where there's a bulge in the lines. The supply levels are low in there and progress is slow. I've got RR engineers working toward that area and there should be some improvement as time passes, perhaps after the SWO which starts soon.

Here's a closer zoom of that bulge and you can detect the mopping up that's going on and that after that's concluded the units will be free to venture to the east and close the gap between the proper front lines and I can make the bulge go away. It appears that I need to relocate one or more of my RR engineers because they seem to be working the same area.

I tried to enlarge it a tiny bit but it's still hard to see the little supply bubbles and how much is in each of them but I would describe it as insufficient everywhere and no supply at all in a lot of the fringes. Operations have got to halt in this area for a while.

The Soviets just now got two turns in a row and there's been several breakthroughs and lots of cherry red Axis units now. Here's the number of attacks that there were. I'm wondering if the SWO has already started or somethlng. Ths Soviets were attacking so hard that lots of Soviet units evaporated. Elmer is having very high losses.
