Question. I seem to have lost track of your Dutch Coastal Defence Patrol Gunboat Soerbaj after the 3rd(?) Of January. Did she make it to a safe harbor (OZ)?

WRT her tangos with the IJN Carrier task force, I seem to recall in the manual, Forces with carriers default to disengaging/breaking off gunfights. I looked it up when my Sara/Lex (while they still had their 8" guns), ran over a small IJN convoy guarded by one DD. My carriers and CAs missed in the sole round of combat, but so did the IJN DD's Long Lance's - Yikes. If I had any reason to delay the Lex's/Sara's refit to loose their 8" guns, the thought vanished into the night following the IJN fish.

PG Soerabaja is apparently out of harms way (knock the wood), escorting ships escaping to Perth.

And with CV TFs, CVs obviously like to avoid surface combat.

As a side note, I am omitting air attacks/air combat where planes are not shot down or ships are not hit. Ground attacks omitted also unless damage to ground units is substantial enough.

Also, all Bombardment land combat is omitted.

So, real Combat Report is way longer, but these are easier to read.

Your Dutch and British bomber pilots seem to have gained enough experience to get the hits on enemy ships.

BTW, Kashima and Kashii were training cruisers with virtually no armour and poor AA and gun armament. Nice to get rid of them, but the other IJ cruisers will not be so easy.
