Hi all,

Guys, have you noticed big drop in post numbers both in main WitP-AE forum and in our "The Thread!!!" lately?

Leo "Apollo11"

I have, but I figured it was due to the weather starting to turn nicer in the Northern Hemisphere. Maybe we'll start to see DivePac posting a lot more soon. [:)]

Long (but productive) day at work tithe...

Does it have more to do with chickens or committees? [:)]
Neither. Actual instruction of students in the field. Gen-u-ine larnin! For me at least, their enthusiasm is contagious.

POLKA WILL LIVE FOREVER!!

Just curious how many fellow geeks out there will get the referrence! [:D]

I'll guess Weird Al.....but thats just a WAG. [&:]

No , but that's a good guess. It's a line from the latest of the Dresden Diaries, "Changes". One of the minor characters is a coroner whose hobby is a being a "one man band" specialing in Polkas. I was curious if anyone here had read any of the books. I'm not a fantasy/horror fan , but this author writes in a very entertaining and humorous manner, with some VERY quirky characters rhrown in. [:)]

Gotta say I'm not a big fan of Harry Dresden. Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that I was introduced to him via audio book, read by James Marsters. He's not working.

I can understand that. I was introduced via the tv show, which got me to read the books. And as in all things , the books are always better than movies/tv. What I don't understand is why I like them. I loath horror , and outside of Roger Zelazny and SOME Anne McCaffrey , intensely dislike fantasy. (Jim Butchers other books absolutely turn me off). I guess what I like is 1) the authors quirkiness , and 2) the "real story" behind reality concept that Butcher and Zelazny both do very well in.

Finally some rain here to wash away some of the pollen.  There are a lot of trees in our region, and a whole lot of tree pollen lately.

Rain? We had snow here yesterday. Cold, wet, sticky snow.

And this morning, I arrive at the train station to find that my train is 20 minutes late. When the 20 minutes are almost up, the PA system announces that the train is still at another station 30 minutes away, unable to proceed and they were also unable to estimate when it would get going.

I got a car ride instead with a co-worker of mine who usually takes the train as well, to avoid the morning rush hour. It was that, or be unable to show up for work in the current calendar year.

I have a suspicion that the problems were due to the communications director of the Danish state railway making a comment in the media yesterday that the trains were "running with precision". That's called jinxing yourself.

Very likely. [:D]

That's almost as bad as saying, "My invasion of Island X is going exactly according to plan, and there's no sign of the enemy!" Then, your email notification alerts you that you have a new turn in your inbox. [:D]
