In other news, I'm getting well acquainted with Steel Wolves. Like Brother Dixie said, once you get to know the rules, they make good sense, and the turns flow well (I'm about half-way through the fifth weekly turn, first week of October 1939).

In the first four weeks, 33 enemy ships totalling 162,000 tons have been sunk for the loss of one U-Boat. The biggest prize was the British carrier HMS Courageous, sunk by Otto Kretschmer in the North Sea.

So the game forces those stupid offensive ASW patrols on the Allies? I can't think of another reason her her to be there.

It's where I'd deploy my new secret ground-breaking deadly weapon/radar. Because hiding it in Germany surrounded by the elite of the German army is too obvious. I'm impressed that they managed to make a deadly radar technology (sinister music).

Three things:

1) I can't spell giving

2) I never suggested either of you did. I was pointing out that T's earlier comment was out of place. Boredom and/or Obama bashing has nothing to do with the strength of feeling over the Falklands.

3) The act of betrayal would come courtesy of our spineless buffons in Westminster, "persuaded" by a US administration keen to get South America on side.

All this talk of the Falklands reminds me of the story of the three commandos who had been wounded in action in the 1982 war but for some reason their decorations had been overlooked - so to make up for it Her Majesty's Government offered a lump sum payment...
