So Jeff, what do you think is the chance of us organizing a "middle of America" summit?[:)][&:]
How `bout Middle of North America? And this is the headquarters. Well about 160 miles or so from dead center (Rugby). Fire arms always welcome.[;)]

I'm sorry, but no one can get there... (Amtrak has cancelled all passenger trains through North Dakota due to flooding). [:'(]

Besides... you might hit all of the cows in the endless amounts of flatland grass we seem to have everywhere according to CB. [:D]

Any recommendations for a good WW2 game that offers the entire war?

I have played WW2- Making History: The Calm and The Storm.... it was ok....I see they have a second one out.

I know there are a lot out there.. just curious what people think.

Thanks in advance.

I've always thought GG's World at War looked interesting. http://www.matrixgames.com/store/330/Ga ... ld.Divided

I might pick it up the next time I win one of the Matrix baseball/football leagues. [:)]

I've looked at GGs WaW as well...wonder if anyone that has played it could offer some feedback.  I am sure it is a good game...

Well it looks like a quarter of Minot (11,000) is going to be evacuated at any moment. Levees are past capacity. God Help them. We were in the same situation in 1997. Much worse though. 60,000 evacuated including East Grand Forks, MN. And fires.

Yesterday evacuation was set for 1800 today. Changed to any minute. To much rain in Montana and Canada. Bismarck/Mandan are in a sticky wicket also. I can still hear the sirens and helicopters (mostly news) 14 years later. Still sends shivers up my spine. Their summer is gone. North Dakota State Fair, Gone. Majot hit to the economy. Then comes the rebuilding. That will take at least five years. At the very least.

Well, I have an iPad and have seen both a nook and a kindle (just today in fact). eInk is very sharp and will be better for reading in strong light. LCD is color and works just as well if not better everywhere else. For what I expect you to be doing with it, either will do just fine.

I've not seen the color Nook.

Nothing to worry about here. After `97 we rebuilt. In dikes we trust. I live only a couple of hundred yards from the Red. And I don't buy flood insurance. It's out west about 180 miles from here. Though rains to south of us may make the Red rise. About an inch last night here and more today. Nothing to fret about. Temps though, May get get to 65F if lucky. Grand Forks is sending assistance to Minot. In a state of 640,000 we know people there.
Thanks for your thoughts for Minot.

It's really nice having a library with you were ever you go. Just found out that it's going to take another 2 hours to fix your car? Download another book. Saw a newspaper that looks interesting? Download it. Or a single issue of a magazine. Where I am now , it's very difficult to get a European newspaper or magazine. But it's only a few clicks away on my Kindle.

I'll always purchase non-fiction in hardcover. But I'll never buy another Paperback novel again if I can help it.[:)]
