Is it really worth it to take Brisbane? Those losses seem out of proportion to any desired gain and youre bogged down when youve been given a great chance to conquer, it seems kind of wasteful to commit so much to that when you could have just as much effect sieging it and starving it without capturing it, would it be possible to just keep enough there to keep it isolated and then use those forces for something else thats more of a gain? wouldnt it be just as much of an effort but much more of a gain to take NZ? what about Fiji? you could too, you obviously have the upper hand here, and you should use that to be more offensive before he gets any considerable naval strength back, by the sounds of things you're able to roam at will but that wont last forever, i think taking fiji would be very decisive here

Ok TeK, your the only one here with any coherent thaughts so you deserve an answer in the least.

As far as Brisbane is concerned, I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm bogged down. The siege is unravelling just as had anticipated. I was ready for a long protracted bloodbath and I'm acting that way. The losses, although being 10 times of Raver's, are not that significant since I was sending in a steady flow of reinforcemets and, above all, didn't push my troops too hard. I only attacked when disruption and fatigue was down and engineers repaired their disabeled sqads. Now that I'm close to 1:1 Raver can slowly see the light at the end of the tunnel. My strengh will be at its peak when the decisive 2:1 has to be reached as opposed to Raver's which is diminishing. And all the time I'm not even counting on the supply to become a problem for the defenders, but if it does, the end will follow shortly afterwards. And in the end, all the squads and lost ac will account to nothing when Brisbae falls and with it 5 aussie divs, a cavalry div, a few brigades etc...Even if Raver had evacuated cadre he won't have them ready for action any time soon. So Brisbane is not just a question of pride, but more than viable strategic objetive.
As for the offensive aproach, I'm not very keen on it in '43...The defensive line I have established is not a coincidence but a planned chain of fontier bases out of the allied fighter range (except India). hat way I managed to keep the contact with the enemy to a minimum so I could concentrate on my objetives.

I have prepared a small surprise for tomorrow. After a Krete-like operation in Ceylon, another solo act by paratroopers is ready. This time the operation is less risky and can be better described as a mop-up operation. The target is Tasmania. The objetive is to take the island by airdroping in two stages.
1. Davenport: this base is abandoned and will be assulted by a small forec to cut off the retreat path for the Hobart garrison.
2. Hobart: The main drop by the joint para divison; expected resistance consists of 2 rear area units, probably starved out.

Well the first big raid for '43 has gone off well.  I have had my eye on Noumea for some time now as I had noticed that there were a lot of ships in port and little in the way of air defence.  My intel proved right but what came as a bigger surprise was all of the MLs that were active in the area,  the attck was aimed at the port with the view to sinking or at the very least damaging all of the ships in port, but as the scouts went out they found lots of MLs and in the end it was these ships that took the brunt of the attack.  The mines fields proved did the most damage and then only to the DDs, the big boys only had some paint scratched off the hulls.  Seeing that it was only a raid the TFs involved are now retiring back to replenish and I hope that Honda gives chase as I have a few things waiting for him if he does[:D].  
Honda's ML capability is now seriously cramped and that is a good thing.
