John,

Did you also know that many of the Akitsuki DD arrive with late war upgrades in place? Is that deliberate as I have some in July 42 seemingly with 44 upgrades?

John, Cavalry and I are up to July 1942 and I have only seen the one problem from the Allied side.

THANKS for the comments! This is exactly what I am looking for.

Notes:
1. Will examine the Japanese CAs and fix that.
2. Will also do the same regarding the Akitsukis.
3. Will fix the AO Conversion to CVE Issue
4. Got to check out engine delivery times corresponding to new airframes coming online.

Changes here will not (I am pretty sure...) be carried over into existing games. The database upgrade can be done but I am truly not sure about a game in progress. Does anyone know the answer to that?

I went back a few pages, butt I'm at work, I may have missed it. In my game the plane art for the AM6M3 does not display. Totally a minor issue, but I thought I would toss it out. It does appear in my normal game folder, maybe I did something wrong?

Just wanted to say, that I'd like to check the version 5.0 before it is released (I'm still here, just had some health/work problems + my usual autumn depression). Good to hear that your life is going back on rails, John, by the way.

It seems there was no more new air problems, after the one with engines availability dates?

Working on 5.0 today.

Glad to see you up and around FatR! Was worried about you...

I just--to make sure I have the right files--downloaded 4.6 from the RA Site to begin work.

RA 5.0

Post by John 3rd »

The list of repairs is getting done.

FIXED:
1. The Japanese CAs--specifically the Mayas but I checked ALL the others--can now do the multiple upgrades that were designed for them. The dots are connected from Class 1128--1129--1130-1131--1132. Much BETTER!
2. How the Akitsuki's were coming in 1942 with Upgrades for 1943--44--45 is beyond me. They are all now fixed and appropriate for when they arrive.
3. AO Neosho conversion to CVE Sangamon now fixed. Had three of the six correct but now Neosho, Sabine, Kaskaskia, Cimarron, Platte, and Guadalupe may all convert to CVEs if desired.

Progress!

Got to get ready for work.

Back at it:

1. N1K4-A added Max Load to match its predesessor @ 1200.
2. Made Saeki Ku T-1 and Kawai Det. Independent since they start on the Taiyo.
3. I did establish experience and morale numbers for the SNLF Assault Brigades. Units that start deployed on Dec 7th have decent numbers (Exp: 65-80 and Morale 70-95) and the units that come in after the war starts have much poorer numbers due to manpower and training issues.
4. Decided NOT to create a CLAA conversion option for the old CLs. RA starts with no Training Cruisers and 3 of the old CLs as THE Training Cruisers. The Sendai's and Nagara's just don't justify the expense of the conversion. The Kaigun bets on more Moon-Class DDs and the 3.9" AA on CAs, BCs, and BBs for heavy AA.

FatR: I am going to leave engine issues to you for looking at.

Are there ANY other issues Players of RA? Need to know now...

I have sent a Trial version of 5.0 to Michael to look at. Are there any METHODICAL RA Players who would like to look and see if there are any issues. I can send the files but I want them back by Friday night so I can send them to FatR to check on aircraft and engine issues. If interested, please PM me with your email.

Michael shows that the AO Conversion issue still isn't fixed. Got to find out what the problem is.

AO Conversion is now fixed! Helps to tell the AO to 'convert to' the CVE.

Took some of Michael's suggestions and worked on some stacking issues at Truk and Saipan. Shifted those starting Invasion Forces (Wake and Guam) around and set them to load on Turn One.

FIXED Omaha CL later upgrades. The old CLs now upgrade instead of just having the CLAA Option.

Things looking good.

I am sending the files to FatR so he can check the Engine arrival dates to make sure they coincide with the airframes. Should have this released within a few days.

One more request. I was looking at my PBEM as Allies and I would like to see the Harriman Cargo Class (Ship Class ID 2411) when it converts to an AKE (Harriman Tender Class ID 2725) have a cargo capacity moved from 4200 to 4600 so it can reload the early war modern American BBs with their 16" guns. Right now there are only 3 AEs that have a large enough capacity to do this and if you get one or two sunk you're up the creek without that damn paddle. [X(]

Either that are a few more C2 Larson Class (Ship Class 2629) that can be like AE Shasta (ID 5091) that have 5400 capacity.

You do get some C2 xAKs that will convert to C2 Lassen AEs. They have a load of 5400 ( my bad ).

I've uploaded the mod. Seeing Dan Nichols' comment, we won't need any fixes anymore.

That said, after reading Lacroix/Wells (which was much after the naval side of this mod was completed), I'm not very happy with the final shape of Aganos. I think (particularly considering all the new hulls for late war) the idea of turning them into "class A--" cruisers was maybe flawed from the beginning. Eh, I guess it is too late to bring my vision after not watching the development much for 1.5 years. But if anyone cares I can elaborate.
