After a two week hiatus due to Nick's and to some degree my college classwork, the game is back on with just a turn per day. An update will be made after the next turn.

August 21, 22, 23 :
The two week lull due to college/university classwork for Nick is over and we are back to a turn daily (hopefully more soon).

Key: TT = Torpedo; bb = ground bombardment; c = casualties; b = base hits; s = supply hits; r = runway hits; p = port hits; AV = Assault Value; DC = Depth Charged; (*) = destroyed aircraft;

I-28 gets under Force Z and is hit once by my DDs

S-35 is off Jaluit and gets 7 shell hits on an xAK

August 27 thru 31 :
The lull/yawnfest continues.... [:D]

Key: TT = Torpedo; bb = ground bombardment; c = casualties; b = base hits; s = supply hits; r = runway hits; p = port hits; AV = Assault Value; DC = Depth Charged; (*) = destroyed aircraft;

Subs:
Amchitka Island has S-27 sink an xAK with 1 TT hit

CVs:
CV Lexington needs 64 days to repair and Yorktown needs 51 days. CA Quincy needs 48 days. Each of these is the result of just one TT hit by his I-boats.

India/Burma:
[>:][>:]

China:
The daily ground bb attacks continue at 85, 43 (2 hexes due west of Loyang on trail) for 27th; 28th; they stop on 29th;

Yenan - Up to 27 Sally hit the AF daily

Sian -
31st - 30 Oscars with 9 Sally = 3b, 2s, 5r;

Australia:
Sydney -
27th - Night attacks by 15 Sally & 15 Helen = 00; 8 Helen & 12(1) Sally = 00; 7(1) more Helen = 00;
28th - More night attacks with 15 Helen; 27(1) Helen; 8 Sally; 4 Sally; 5(1) Sally;

Melbourne -
27th - Night attacks by 34(4) Helen = 00; 7 Helen = 00;
28th - Another series of night attacks by 18(1) Helen; 7 Helen; 6 Helen; 7(1) Helen; 8 Helen;

Adelaide -
28th - 42 Tojo sweep; 36 Oscars escort in 5 Sally & 40(1) Helen = Light Industry hits 4; 18(1) Sally = Light Industry hits 2; 42 Tojo sweep the still empty skies;
29th - 42 and then another 42 Tojo sweep the empty skies; 36 Oscars with 18(1) Sally & 36 Helen = Light Industry hits 2;
31st - 42 Tojo sweep; 36 Oscars with 44(2) Sally & 25(1) Helen = Manpower hits 60 & Fires 16940; 10(1) Helen = Manpower hits 14 & Fires 9620

Roto-
30th - 42 Tojo sweep three times;
31st - 42 Tojo sweep three times;

South Pacific:
Noumea -
28th - 6 Zero are on CAP as 76 B-17s hit the AF = 7b, 1s, 12r; 3 Zero still left on CAP vs 21(1) B-17s = 2r; A solo Zero is left on CAP vs 9 B-17s = 1s, 4r;
29th - Only 4 Zero are on CAP vs 67 B-17s = 4b, 19r; 3(1) Zero vs 14 B-17s = 3b, 2r; 1 Zero vs 6 B-17s = 1r;
31st - 3 Zero vs 76 B-17s = 2b, 3r;

Nadi - Transports unload support troops, so the B-17s are trying to keep the Zeros head down at Noumea.

Central Pacific:
Tarawa - Forts 2; AF 3;
Abemama -
Nonouti - Forts 2;
Tabiteuea - Forts 2;

Ocean, Nauru, and Makin are ALL empty!!

Notes:
Night attacks on Sydney and Melbourne for two days don't get any hits at 6k, but he losses over 10 planes per day to flak and op losses. [:)] I have some new Aussie air groups training up.

P-40s - The "K" model start in 9/42 at 65 per month while the "E" model still puts out 35 for one more month. The "K" will go to India while the "E will be used up in Australia. More of a hit and run CAP vs his Tojo sweeps.

F-4s - I only get 4 per month, but it will allow me to divide the two groups up (Australia and Gilberts) to cover more bases.

4e bomber deployment - 2x 48 plane BG at Suva with B-17E; 1x 48 plane BG B-17F at Pearl (it will take the rest of 9/42 to fill out); 1x 48 plane BG of B-24D each at Pearl and San Fran (both need to fill out and train up); 2x 12 plane BS at Calcutta with B-17D. One 48 plane BG each of B-24s and B-17s to head for Gilberts once they train up more and the AFs get to size 5 or 6.

Medium bombers - a steady stream of 20 B-25C Mitchells are filling out some 12 and/or 16 plane BS that are training in NZ. Along with the older B-16 and B-26s, they will see action in Gilberts soon.

With my damaged CVs and the 9/42 upgrades pending, there will not be much counterattacking until they are done along with the major CV upgrades in 10/42 that will see the 1.1in AA guns replaced with the 40mm Bofors (range goes from 4k to 6k). The 37th Division is 100% prepped for Adak Island and is at Prince Rupert. I will probably land before winter sets in in 11/42 and bomb Amchitka over the winter while the base expands.

Pearl - now has over 2 million in supply and my CS Convoy of fuel will bring it almost to 1 million in the next few days.

Notes:
Turns flow back and forth quickly over the last few days. The game is boring right now as Nick awaits my actions vs him doing anything offensive. Thus, a boring AAR for a few more weeks.

Aleutian Islands - I have decided to use my PP for the next few weeks to buy out the Canadians prepping for the bases (three) that Japan owns vs in India. I form a Support TF with a 3k capacity ARD to head from San Fran to Kodiak along with AKE, ACM, YMS, and AMc. I want to take Adak and build it up to base an AS and multiple subs to start the blockade of Japan.

Notes:
CVs going to Gilberts to support multiple invasions. They will stay close to bases and supply LRCAP over Amphib TFs while they unloaded only. Recon by F-4s in Marshalls show only fighters, but I don't want a quick influx of Nell/Betty to find easy targets.

Same as the last entry.

Key: TT = Torpedo; bb = ground bombardment; c = casualties; b = base hits; s = supply hits; r = runway hits; p = port hits; AV = Assault Value; DC = Depth Charged; (*) = destroyed aircraft;

Subs:

[:)] There was a third I-boat to the SE of Tabiteuea that was seen during Combat Replay.

CVs:
CV Lexington down to 24 days while CV Yorktown is down to 5 days worth of repairs.

India/Burma: [>:][>:]

Notes:
Nick asked me about "Airbase Supply Hits" and how to figure out how much supply is destroyed. I send him this:
Nick,

I have found what you were looking for here. The answer is not that clear cut as what you probably want.

tm.asp?m=2619561&mpage=1&key=

Now, for an IMPORTANT web address to Bookmark.

https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A ... n%22+mines

I've had this for years and it goes back more than one year that the Matrix search engine allows you. At the very end is "mines" and you replace it with the words you want to search with the "+" in between the words as I think you already know, but I added just in case (airbase+supply+hits).

ENJOY!!

Of course not [;)], but I expect her to be at Truk. That is why the few CVs over in Gilberts will stand off and be LRCAP from shore bases. They are there to provide LRCAP for transports and then run away if KB shows up. I have lots of subs on patrol off Truk to the east and SE just in case she comes out.

I have over 200 fighters on CVs and LRCAP from shore involved. I brought in a 2nd PBY group and set for max (17 hexes) at 50% each, so I 'hope' I'm covered. The Brit CV and CVL Hermes will be more exposed than the three American CVs. Two old BB are with the Amphib TF and the base is empty. I placed a few precious APs in with the xAPs to help speed up unloading. I just need to get the troops ashore and the supplies can wait till later. I have small xAKLs at Tabiteuea to do that type of work (almost 100k supplies there). Landing in 2 days. Fingers crossed. [;)]

Tabiteuea AF goes to level 5 (B-24s will now carry full bomb load)
