AGS
I stay with greater height

part of Nikolayev is cleared.
bombardment of Odessa continue

I "noted" each German division not attacking yet
we are closing Dnepropetrovsk

isolated units keep interesting 45 regiment and 17 HQ (or 51 and 20)
i have doubt about some of them

New moves from Patrick and this is the northern half of the front lines and you can see how he has pierced my lines in several places and has trapped some of my units and is in the process of killing them a few at a time. I haven't started moving anybody yet and you can see from the aircraft losses meter that the air war is still hot and I'm still loosing aircraft by the boat-load. The Axis advance in the south is still going strong and Kiev is in jepardy. It's T30 and the winter mud season starts soon I think.

My reinforcements are starting to pile up near Gorky and I usually run out of rail cap. before I can move them all to the front lines. A lot of them are ready for combat, it's just that I run out of a way to move them quickly. I've decided to fly the HQ's west if I can. All the airfields are stuffed with resting aircraft. I usually have to move the most recent reinforcements out of the hex they spawned in to make room for 9 more new units next turn. I've been trying to stack the formations together so I can embark them easier as a formation to move them. So far there's been no Axis air attacks but I suppose I can expect them before too much longer.

This is a view of the area just to the NW of Pskov and you can see how the Axis units are taking my MLR's apart and will soon be driving on Narva, up near the bottleneck. Patrick's advance has been a whirlwind for about 30 turns now. I'm having a blast.

New moves from Patrick and he has broken through my defenders and is pushing into the Crimea. I have some nearby reserves but I doubt they will hold the Axis units back for very long. Patrick is using the Italians on the crossings as well. I would have thought that the Axis minors wouldn't work out that well. I could be wrong.

My mom just came over to talk to me ( 07:30 ) and she was obviously upset. Her face was tight and red and she complained that she didn't feel "right" and I suggested we take her blood pressure and it turned out she was 175 / 97 and she said she was going to go home and take one of her BP pills and lay down. My sister Jeri is a retired OR nurse and I called her and told her what happened and she said she would go over to her house and see after her. All three of us live in the same large trailer park on the southeast edge of tucson so that's not a hardship for her. I'm hoping everything is okay. My biggest problem is that I get my genes from her and I've probably got the same condition, it just hasn't started showing symptoms yet. Her pacemaker is keeping her alive because her heart isn't beating just right on it's own. She is 89 years old now and lives by herself and two dogs. I call her everyday to make sure she isn't laying on the kitchen floor and can't get up. Problem is she sometimes leaves her phone in her car and I make a false positive guess and go over there to see in person. She says she's sorry but it keeps happening over and over for months now. I don't know why I'm sharing all this with you guys except I need your moral support or something. Send some healing vibrations this way will you guys?

This is the T31 front lines in front of Moscow. There's some places where the Soviets are bursting through my defenders and I'll have to pull back, reorganize, maybe start a new MLR, definately do something about them. I have more than enough replacements to fight the war just not enough rail to get them all to the front lines quickly. I've been running out of rail cap since the beginning of the game. I have to prioritize what I move. I've been moving all the still red ones to Moscow and letting them rest there. They don't cost as much to embark as the full- of-equipment units. About 1/3 of the aircraft are still red and about 1/3 of them are yellow and about 1/3 of them are flying combat missions. Most of the units on the front lines are new to combat ( untried ) and most of my units have been respawned at least one time so far and they are reappearing in the game about 4 turns after they are killed. I'm switching from medical marijuana to recreatioal marijuana now because the game is starting to get really excitig.

German view of turn 31.

AGN
there was few advance as I needed to fight 2 regiments who made problems in my rear.
206 Infantry is on rail, ready to move next turn
i think that MUD will begin next turn, don't know what to expect.

air war was better than before 33 vs 193
i will try to recover some bombers during raspoutitsa, as many began without full equipment.

AGC sector Orsha-Bryansk

5th Panzer broke the line north of Orsha
34th Infantry will move by rail, actually near Kiev

there is always bridge to repair, but some are not really necessary
some units really need replacement to recover some strength

during the turn 33 regiment and 11 HQ were destroyed

junction between AGC and AGS

44th Infantry will continue to move by rail
gone from Kiev, actually in Rumania and no more movement possible

Nikolayev is open
I tried a probe against Fortress Odessa, 5 HQ supported the defense.
Many HQ are also near Bryansk

next time, 65 regiment and 20 HQ will be isolated
if i can't attack them during mud, they can probably suffer from attrition

AGC
same sector as before
a bit improving the rail line

43rd and 49th Armies are isolated
main difference between Germany and Russia:
no Artillery in HQ, they can only improve recovery rate for Germans (not minors)
Soviets HQ get a range of 3 or 4 hexes for they artillery contain

there was less units destroyed: 29 regiments and only 7 HQ (21st Army included)

first hex of Fortress Odessa is taken
there was a unit in the small port west of there, they surrendered after a bombardment

Here's what's going on in the south. Patrick has broken through at Kherson and the Odessa garrison is getting probed a lot and there's been arty duels and I expect to hold out in the south for another 10 turns or so. By then they will be at the bottleneck and I'll have to call in all my aircraft in this area to concentrate expecially for Odessa and Sevastopol. I'm still using my naval forces near Odessa but I'll probably have to shift some of them to help out near the bottleneck.

The aircraft losses meter ( lower left corner ) shows that my AS is getting marginally larger and my losses are a lot less than they once were. Half the air fleet is reorganizing and of the 20% left, most of them are resting. I haven't checked my losses in a while. Stand by for another post, this time about the losses.

Here's the Soviet losses so far. I'm running really short on fighters. And there's been a huge number of bombers brought down, and actually losses have been heavy generally. That's what I get for defending forward I guess. Although, I don't consider this an accurate depiction of what might have really happened because of the house rules imposed; namely the lack of the ability to drop bridges and the rule about INT being forbidden. Without those it's not possible to play out realistically; what may have really happened isn't going to happen this time.
