Turn 72: May 22, 1942

The UK invades and takes Oslo - Norway surrenders.
We lose U-8 off Cork, but it identifies the Allied naval units there:
Two British carriers in one group, US BBs in another group.
There are other Allied groups at sea too.

Not quite sure how to react to this. It may be worth it to
counter-invade Norway, we really don't want Allied aircraft stationed there.

Axis subs spread out to identify the two fleets in the north.
The first one turns out to be a sub trap, but the second one is the
CV illustrious all by itself.

I decide against trying to bomb or attack it. The combined Axis fleet
moves to Danzig (to deal with the Soviet fleet which is raiding).

Our corps in London is split up and one division lands in Stavanger. Germany now has 20
landing craft left. The 39th Corps is mobilized in Stettin and the 1st HQ arrives under Guderian.
These forces should hopefully be enough for now.

On the eastern front we are still wading through hordes of rifle corps - 7 of them are eliminated this turn.
Our northern push isn't really a push. Our real objectives are Vitebsk and Smolensk. All paratroopers are still
in reserve. The 2nd Panzer exhausts itself and will be pulled back for rest next turn.

In the south things are going well. Most units have seen very little combat
and losses have been very low.

Germany sends max production aid (124) to Italy who is at max manpower. The
Axis economies are doing great so far, losses are very light.

Turn 73: June 5, 1942

The US counter-invades Stavanger with a marine division.
Axis submarines take extensive damage as Allied fleets move around them.

But there are still no Allied aircraft in Norway...
We supply by air, move a division to Narvik (that could land next turn if it survives).
And we rail in two paratroopers and a bombers, just in case. Not sure how much effort we'll put
into Norway.

Italy has plenty of landing craft, so the fleet and an elite corps moves to Copenhagen.

In the East we destroy 8 rifle corps this turn. The main river may be a good defensive line for
the Soviets, but it is also an excellent defensive line for us. Our drive will continue at a steady
pace eastward. The Finns will be withdrawn from front line duty.

One advantage of the methodical advance is that we have absolutely no supply problems.

In the south we run into our first real resistance. There is little fighting, as we maneuver our panzers north.
The objectives here are Kiev and Krivoi Rog.

I'm not sure what SillyFlower will do here, he may even counter-attack (and we may lose a unit or two). If I were him
though I'd take a single step back (except at the river).

(I made a mistake with the Italian paratrooper, it was moved back to the rail line).

The German economy is doing far too well, especially when it comes to manpower.
We keep up our aid to Italy and build the 9th Interceptor.

So far the Soviets have taken massive casualties, but have not lost any units of value.

Turn 74: June 19, 1942

Allied fleets hover menacingly around the British Isles.
Our bomber in Irland scores 4 hits on a DD group and 1 on a CA.

Oddly enough the Allies do not reinforce Norway much, so we use our elite paratrooper
to retake Stavanger and eliminate the US marines there. In the air our interceptor dominates
against a US fighter unit.

We also take Narvik.

In northern Russia our slow advance continues. We shattered the 9th Army that was garrisoned
in Minsk.

Surprisingly enough the Soviets stay put in the south. We attempt to destroy the elite Siberian tankers
but sadly they escape... barely, the unit will not be effective for a long long time. Our casualties are heavy
but we shatter one mech corps and reduce most of the others.

I expect a Soviet withdrawal to Kiev. The German forces here are slightly tired by now, however the 4th Panzer is
completely fresh.

Italy builds a mountain corps and 10 supply trucks. Germany cancels the aid to Italy
and sets Reinf/Upgrade to 1000.

Turn 75: July 3, 1942

Our aircraft in Ireland score 3 hits on DD/CLs as Allied carriers
strike Cork to little effect.

The Allies are on the offensive in Libya, we'll just delay them as long as possible.

In the east the Soviets eliminate the 1st Storm Corps (it had heavy artillery attached).

In Scandinavia we send some reinforcements to Stavanger and bomb the surprisingly weak
UK corps in Oslo. The whole Norway attack might just be a diversion. Our division in
the north lands near Trondheim and the Finns garrison Narvik.

In Russia this turn we shatter 2 rifle corps and destroy one. In the north the
panzers mostly rest. We may not be able to get much further here.

As expected the Russians fall back to strong defensive positions in the south.
There is little fighting this turn.
