Axis wins initiative. No reroll possible.

Axis Impulse #1

Weather is fine everywhere except for Rain in N. Monsoon.

Japan and Italy take Naval Actions while Germany takes a Land.

Japan moves a couple of FTRs into the 4 box in the Coral Sea. Germany moves a NAV into the 3 Box in Italian Coast.

Japan moves to confront the USA in the Solomons with reinforcing the Coral Sea. An invasion force takes position of the coast of Burma.

Italy activates in the North Sea and finds with 6 surprise. It chooses SUB combat and reduces damage. 1 SUB is damaged and another aborted. 2 CPs are sunk and 3 others aborted.

An action in the New Zealand Coast aborts 1 CP and a Japanese SUB.

Both sides find in the Solomons with fairly even numbers. 3 US CAs are damaged. 2 Japanese are damaged and 1 destroyed. In a 2nd round, the Japanese gain 9 surprise. They use 4 to decrease enemy column and 2 to increase their own while saving 3 to choose a target. 1 American BB is damaged while 3 CAs are aborted (2 of them have already been damaged). 2 Japanese CAs are aborted as are 2 previously damaged ones. The Japanese abort from the sea zone. (I forgot to screenshot this 2nd round.)

No other combats are activated.

Axis Impulse #1 Con't

There are no STRAT bombings. Italy GS occurs on Kiev with an ART and 2 LNDs. Germany does a GS on a Russian 1 unit salient in the north and on a couple of hexes in the south to flip ART and FTR in the Russian front lines. Russians intercept in 1 hex in the south. The lone German LND is destroyed with an 18 while a Russian FTR is aborted. The Italian GSs are pitiful, just flipping an ENG div. On the hex East of Dnepropetrovsk, all three units are flipped. No other successes are to be had.

Germany declares attacks against Kiev and the Russian salient in the north and a Polish partisan. Air combat to gain ground support ends up seeing 1 Russian FTR and 1 LND destroyed with aborts for German FTR and a cleared LND in the north, while in the south, 1 German FTR and an LND are destroyed and none cleared and for Russia, 1 LND is cleared and an FTR destroyed.

As for attacks, a 5 is rolled against Kiev, losing Germany a MIL. In the north, a MECH is lost for Germany while the defender is shattered and 1/2 attackers are disorganized. In Poland, the partisan is destroyed without loss.

An LND is rebased east for Germany. A number of reorganizations are done with HQ, especially in the region of Kiev, but also in the north. Japan reorganizes naval assets in Truk. Italy reorganizes an ART beside Kiev.

Allied Impulse #2

The CW and USA take Naval Actions. China and the USSR take Land. France takes a Combined.

Naval moves are made with several TRS and AMPH through the Atlantic and into Cape St. Vincent. Convoy lines are also protected to some degree.

USA activates in Coral Sea. Both sides find with Japan gaining 3 surprise which is used to increase A-A combat. After 1 round of air combat, the USA aborts having lost an Aussie NAV and destroyed a Japanese FTR. In a second round both sides find again, this time with the USA getting 2 surprise points. It is used to increase A-A combat. All USA bombers clear after the Japanese abort the combat; however, Japanese AAA is superior this round and destroys 1 bomber while the other gets through with 5 factors. A Japanese CV and CA are damaged and Japan aborts the sea area.

CW activates in the Italian Coast. Italy gains 5 surprise points and uses them to choose the combat, going for a surface. 2 week Italian CL are damaged. 2CW CL are destoyed while 2 CA are aborted. Fortunately for the Allies, there was no 2nd round.

In the South China Sea, both searches were successful... a lone USA SUB against 5 escorts in a surface battle with Japan getting 2 surprise... used to mitigate damage. 1 Axis unit aborts and the US SUB is damaged.

In Cape St. Vincent, Italy tries to find with its SUBs, but is surprised and the Allies have 7 surprise. They choose a Naval Air combat, and use all to increase damage. 1 Italian SUB is destroyed and the other damaged.

In the Bay of Bengal, the CW fleet is surprise as well. The Japanese choose a Naval Air combat and have 8 surprise points. 5 are used to minimize AAA and 2 to increase damage. 1 CA is damaged and 2 are aborted. The CW aborts the combat.

The Naval Step is ended.

Allied Impulse #2 Con't

The CW strat bombs Lille with 1 bomber. It goes through unintercepted considering the counter interception power available. Germany loses 1 BP.

China does a GS with both an ART and LND against OOS units in southern China. They manage to disorganize 1 of the 2 units there, but it is unfortunately, a CAV division and so the odds in an attack are not greatly shifted.

No rail moves are made. France moves its units towards Syria from their conquest of Iraq. China moves a MOT div in the direction of the front in the south. Russia moves units towards the front lines.

No attacks are declared.

Russia uses some HQ to reorganize a few units. The USA reorganizes ships in Honolulu and the Fiji Islands.

Axis Impulse #3

Weather is Fine everywhere.

Italy takes a combined while Germany and Japan take land actions.

No naval moves are done, but Italy activates in the Italian Coast but neither side finds.

Japan STRAT bombs Lanchow to no effect. Germany does 2 ART strikes against Kiev and one on a hex NW of Gomel. An Italian ART also goes for Kiev. Japan does a strike against an OOS South African MIL in Rangoon. Near Gomel, a Russian AAA stops 1 factor. 1 unit is disorganized there, and from the three ART on Kiev, there are no good results (this with 2, 3 and 5 factors ground striking!). The MIL in Rangoon is disorganized, a good result for Japan.

Japan moves units around the front and debarks a unit in northern China. It invades Rangoon. Germany moves to set up attacks on Kiev and on the hex NW of Gomel. Attacks are declared on this as well as a Chinese Partisan near Changsha. Germans add Ground Support to the north, near Gomel and on Kiev. The latter is intercepted by Russia with no Ground Support of its own. Over Kiev, the German LND is cleared.

Near Gomel, a MOT Div is lost and attackers are disorganized with the defenders losing an INF div. For Kiev, a typically poor German roll of 4 is done, modified to 11, causing the loss of 1 unit and attackers being disorganized. Near Changsha, both partisans are eliminated without issue. Finally, Rangoon is taken in an automatic attack.

Rebases are done by Germany and Italy. Italy reorganizes a SUB in Bordeaux.

Allied Impulse #4

The USA takes a super-combined. The CW and France take a combined. USSR and China take lands.

USA moves a FTR into the 3 box in the Italian Coast. The CW moves a significant naval force into the 3 Box there as well picking up a number of USA units on AMPH and TRS in that zone with a couple of its own. France takes a div on a CL from Senegal.

The Allies initiate in the West Med and both sides find with only 1 surprise to the Allies. After a NAV is aborted, the Italians abort the air combat. There is no 2nd round.

No other activations result in combat.

The CW moves to bomb Paris with 4 bombers with 4 escorts. It goes unintercepted. However, with a roll of 1, there is no damage done.

The CW ground strike Algiers as does the US using a CVP in the West Med. Russia does a GS north-east of Smolensk with an LND and SE of Dnepropetrovsk with 2 ART and an LND. The one near Smolensk is intercepted while the other in the south is not. The LND in the north is cleared with no losses on either side. 2 of 3 are disorganized near Smolensk while all 3 are effected in the south of Russia. The Algiers GSs fail.

China moves around a few units to no purpose. Russia sets up for attacks in a few sectors. USA moves units around in Algeria as does the CW. France moves units in the area of Syria. Invasions are conducted at Guadal Canal (automatic), Messina and Syracruse. A Paradrop is attempted near Dnepropetrovsk with a PARA Div. It is intercepted and countered. A 20 destroys the German FTR and the PARA is cleared.

Attacks are declared by Russia NE of Smolensk and SE of Dnepropetrovsk. The rest of the attacks are the aforementioned invasions. Shore bombardment is added to attacks as needed and Ground Support is also added. There is combat over the hex near Smolensk. Both sides' FTR cover is aborted and a Russian bomber clears through.

NE of Smolensk, the German force is shattered without loss. Attackers lose no units but are 50% disorganized. Near Dnepropetrovsk, no negative results arise for the Russians while 2 German units are destroyed and the other shattered. The attack on Syracuse goes well, with no harm done to the US forces taking the port. Messina also goes very well, with the port taken and no losses. Guadal Canal is automatic.

The USA rebases air units into Gibraltar from the Cape St. Vincent and to different areas of England.

The USSR uses all its HQ to reorganize many units, both north and south.

Axis Impulse #5

Weather is fine throughout the realms.

Italy takes a combined while Japan and Germany take lands.

Italy moves a SUB into the Bay of Biscay. Italy activates and finds w/ 8 surprise... 4 are used to choose SUB combat. The Italian SUB is damaged and 1 CP is damaged/3 aborted.

In the Italian Coast, the CW finds rather than Italy, with slight surprise. All 4 surprise are used to mitigate AAA. 3 CA and a BB are aborted for Italy. There is no 2nd round.

Japan rails an HQ into Canton from Changsha. It moves units around in China to attack a partisan in the south. Germany moves to cover holes in its lines.

Japan attacks the partisan and wins convincingly with no ill effects.

No reorganizations are done, but Japan and Germany do move some A/C forward into more useful positions.

Allied Impulse #6

USA takes a combined, France a naval, all others take Lands and USSR reorganizes all of its HQ.

USA moves many AMPHs into the Italian Coast SZ and picks up some units from Sicily. De Gaulle is picked up from Syria. France covers convoys and beings a loaded TRS to the West Med.

Allies activate in Italian Coast and Achieve surprise. 7 surprise go to the Allies. Extreme rolls on bothe sides see a Mustang lost in return for a German NAV. 1 Italian BB is damaged. In a 2nd round, both find with the Allies gaining 2 surprise points. These are used to increase Air-Air capability. In the ensuing air combat, the Allies lose an FTR while the Italians do likewise and abort from the combat. There is a 3rd round in which both sides find with the Allies getting 2 surprise which is used to improve air combat. In the combat an Italian NAV is destroyed while the Allied CVP bomber is cleared. However, AAA destroys the CVP. Prior to next round, a few Allied FTR and a NAV enter the 1 box.

The naval combat will continue in the next post...

The naval activation in the Italian Coast continues. In a 4th round, the Allies find with 7 surprise points. 2 are used to mitigate AAA. An Italian BB is damaged. In a 5th round, both sides find with no surprise. A surface combat arises. 2 Italian CL are damaged as well as a BB. For the Allies, a CA is destroyed while another is damaged. There is no 6th round.

The West Med is activated by the Allies. The Italians avoid combat having 5 surprise points.

The naval portion has finished.

Allied Impulse #6 Con't

There is no STAT bombing done. A ground strike against an 2 unit stack along Sea of Azov fails to disorganize a unit while the Italian INF in Algiers is flipped by a CW CVP on a roll of 1.

Russia does shuffling along its front to seek decent attack odds. China does likewise. USA and CW move to encircle Algiers and free up port space in Sicily.

Another invasion is directed at Sicily, Tripani, and a Paradrop is performed by the USSR along the Sea of Azov. 2 Russian attacks are declared, one 2 hexes South of Gomel and the other along the sea of Azov. The Allies declare an attack on Algiers. China declares a blitz in the south.

In China, a MOT div is lost and attackers disorganized. In Italy, the Allies successfully land with a div disorganized and the port taken. The Sea of Azov attack sees similar success with 1 German destroyed and the other shattered while no ill effects are experienced by the attackers. South of Gomel, a MECH Div is lost by Russia in return for a German MECH. The hex is taken with all attackers disorganized. Finally, Algiers is an automatic victory for the Allies.

Some air rebases occur, mostly for the USA.

The Soviets reorg a number of units with HQ.

Axis Impulse #7

Weather is Fine everywhere.

All Axis passes.

Rolled 4, needed 3 so the turn continues.

Allied Impulse #8

France takes a Naval, the CW and USA both take combineds, while Russia and China take Lands.

The CW and USA move TRS/Amphs to pick up units in Algeria.

No naval combats are successfully activated.

There is no STRAT bombing done. Russia does a GS 3 hexes west of Kalinin with escort. It goes unintercepted. 1 unit is disrupted of the 2 in the hex.

The USA and CW move units into ports in Algeria for later transport. China moves units to outflank the Japanese in central China. Communist Chinese shuffle around looking for an attack in the Sian area. Russia moves to do attacks in both north and south fronts.

Russia is the only Allied power to declare attacks. one is 3 hexes west of Kalinin while the other is along the Sea of Azov. An air combat occurs in the hex near Kalinin. The Russian LND is destroyed and no support is added.

In the attack near Kalinin, the defenders are shattered while the Russians lose a MOT div and 1/2 disrupted. Aong the Sea of Azov, the Russians lose a ARM Div while being disorganized, but they gain the hex.

There are some minor rebases. Also, a CW HQ reorganizes a French TRS and the Russian reorganize a number of land units in the southern theatre.

The turn does not end on a 3>3.

Axis Impulse #9

Weather is fine except in the N. Monsoon which has Rain.

Japan and Italy both pass. Germany takes a combined.

Germany moves a couple of SUBs into the Faroes Gap. Germany finds with 2 surprise, not enough to call SUB combat so a surface happens. 2 of 3 CW CAs are aborted while 1 German SUB is aborted. In a 2nd round, a surface again happens with no results. In a 3rd round, 1 SUB finds with enough surprise (8) to call the combat. The German SUB is damaged while 1 CP is destroyed.

No other Naval Combats are successfully activated.

Germany STRAT bombs Belfast at extended range. 1 roll of 9 modified to 11 does 2 BPs of damage.

Germany moves units to cover the holes in north and south.

Air is rebase to support defense in various regions.

Turn ends on 1 3<5.
