Hudsons attacked Manado this turn, doing not-too-much damage, but a Toko group of Zeroes has been transferred in anyways, even though the airfield has not been fully repaired. Naval construction units will follow up soon so that I can make it a level four and safe from bombardments.

You want a level 4 airbase in the eastern DEI? That is not allowed ;)

Bob is right about why you get inadvertent deliberate attacks - tank units normally. Being sad, I actually cycle through all units individually checking each turn ...

Since it's based on CHS, the AI is probably overwhelmed...

But still, Alikchi san, do you change Ironmod data along your playtesting?
Spooky has only version 1.01 available. :(
Could you be so kind and publish the latest/maybe modificated version somewhere?

I REALLY fancy the idea of starting this mod... :)

A version 2 is definitely being worked on. I don't think it's ready yet though. Alikchi normally arrives on the forum at about 11pm GMT so check back in about 5 hours or so and I'm sure all will be made clear :)

The mod will work with the AI but it will struggle even more than usual. Nothing has been done to try and help it.

P.S. "modificated", a lengthening of a word this time! English is great, you can change it about as you like and still be understood.

well...
what is wrong with "modification"?
English is definitely not my native tonque, it is rather read than taught :D

Would you be so kind and put it in simple words?
Should I rather use "modded mod" :))
ooooo yes... [:-] modified?? [:'(]
sorrrryy... for vivifying (?) your language Captain [;)]

The bottom line is: I would use the 2nd version even if it's not finished.

No worries viber. I actually all like the different spellings and stuff, makes life more interesting :)

You need to ask Alikchi about version 2. I don't have it.

Good to hear it, Captain [:D]

My hope concerning v 2.0 bases on a solid (tricky) thesis:
If v 1.01 has been finished, v 2.0 can only be not fully modified version of this mod.
It cannot be NOT ready (completed)

I sent you a PM viberpol! But briefly, yes, I'm working on version 2.0, and hopefully it will be out by Christmas (Target date is december 7th [;)]). No guarantees though. If you're interested, I'd play with version 1.01 for a while, but wait until 2.0 before you start any long-term PBEM games - the changes will be quite big. :)

Bob - about the AI - it works just as well as normal CHS! Which is to say that the Japanese AI works as well as can be expected, while the Allied AI is also okay but a little less so (I think the addition of Karachi and Panama tends to throw the Allied AI off a bit). It's still quite playable from either side though. [:)]

Thanks to both Cruft and Bob about the deliberate attack problem - I was not aware of that and it had been bothering me for several turns now! I had also been wondernig why my tank units had such high disruption, lol. Oh and I WILL have my eastern DEI airbase, as much as you're having fun bombing my candidates ;) Davao isn't doing much!

Possible AAR update later today, all - I'm eager to tear into working on IS 2.0, though. :)

Alikchi san, you make my heart crying [:(]...

Till Christmas I'd be definitely & totally exhausted because of such a long await. [;)]

There is no other alternative mod worth playing (other than Iron Storm), and I always been thinking about what ifs...
What if we'd be able to give Japan a CHOICE. A choice to produce 3 Yamato's, some more Zuikakus, or, more pragmatic, a dozen of DE's (Momi's?).
Of course -- in the mod I'm looking for, there is a little possibility that every naval ship on the drawing board would be build (AND IT SHOULD NOT, as a prerogative some should be halted immediately) -- but the CHOICE... is so tempting ;)

So, how about sending me what you've got till now?
I'd be also your beta tester if you'd like? Maybe I could help in some (any) way?
I beg you [&o]

Sorry Viberpol! All I can say is that I agree with you re:what ifs, else I wouldn't be doing this [8D]

Once I have everything in place I will PM you if you're interested in beta testing a bit - I would rather like to have no obvious errors this time around. In the meantime, though, work will go on. :)

Thanks for your interest though! I have been working on IS quite a bit in the last few days. Some screenshots here for your general perusal -

I am on fall break! Which means I am taking a break from the game, too. Expect an AAR update tomorrow or Monday.

Just one quick question if the RN has not lost as many ships and more importantly in this timeline has still got Hood and Repulse (not to mention Australia) will they get a better mid 43 upgrade i.e. like the rebuild done on HMS Renown ?

I am thinking that Repulse will probably get the full Renown upgrade (not too difficult, and the ship badly needed it), but Hood will have to soldier on as is (with of course AAA and radar upgrades, but no "Large Refit/Repair"). The problem with the RN having more ships is that it's more ships to clog the yards for repairs and such!

So, Repulse will be Renown-ified around December 1943 - Hood is too valuable to take out of the line for a year or more.

The Australia (ex-Tiger) has only been lightly upgraded between the wars (the RAN has serious financial trouble maintaining her - the condition of the ship is similar to Repulse in many ways) but she will get her fair share of attention.

Well I'd been wondering when somebody would do the Surcouf. Too bad WitP doesn't model the 15 minutes it took her to dive...[:D]

Surcouf is the only submarine that we should be able to send on bombardment missions ;p
