Post by George Patton »

Report of July 30th ,1942

DEI

My first ships reached Merak and Batavia and MSW and DD are clearing the waters from enemy mines.
Enemy subs are very active and puts a torpedo on DD Yunagi, on 2 AP, and on 1 AK.
61 Fortress bombarded Singkawiang afld, destroying 3 Zero, 2 Nell and 1 Oscar.
In the Java sea DD Otori took one bomb. Anyway today I lost only 1 AP.
47 Betty and 40 Nell attacked a british SAG west of Bandoeng. During the attack I lost only 1 Nell. But my pilots managed very well and put 3 torpedo on CA Exeter and 5 torpedo each on CL Newcastle and CL Birmingham. DD Jupiter received also one torpedo. In the second attack DD Encounter received 2 torpedoes and DD Electra 3.
All the three cruiser and DD Encounter and Electra sunk in the afternoon.

Tomorrow Chuck will surely attack Palembang afld with the B-17. I moved all Betty and Nell back to Singapore and I put 227 fighters on CAP over Palembang. I hope they will do a good job.

Today, in the Java theatre I lost 9 Zero, 1 Oscar and 2 Nell (12 planes), while the allied lost 7 fighters and 9 B-25 (16 planes).

Indian Ocean

My troops launched an assault and reduced the fort down to 2. I suffered 817 casualties while Chuck suffered 206. I’ll try another attack tomorrow.

DEI

A lot of transport ships reached Batavia and Merak and begun to land troops. MSW and DD are doing a good job, destroying dozens of mines. Two AP received one torpedo each during the night by enemy SS, while DD Yunagi and one AP, torpedoed yesterday, sunk today.
CA Atago received one air-launched torpedo, and is now going back to Singapore.

Indian Ocean

In Port Blair my troops reduced again the fort by 1 point, lowering to 1. Now my troops need a couple of days of rest.

Report of August 1st ,1942

I can’t believe it! We are in august and I’m just starting fighting to occupy Java. In my other game, as Japan, I occupied Java by half of march….
Anyway, here is the report.

DEI

An US SAG with 3 BB appeared near Soerabaya, and sunk 1 PG and 2 AK. They were part of empty transports, sent in the Java sea to confuse Chuck, and let him think that I intend to land in Kragen too.
Enemy PTs sunk the already damaged DD Isonami near Batavia.

In the morning SS Swordfish launched one torpedo against CV Shokaku, but the fish failed to detonate.

Other ships losses of the day sunk by enemy aircrafts have been: DD Shiranuhi, DD Otori, 3 MSW, 1 PG, 2 AP and 3 AK.

My recon have spotted an enemy carrier off Malang, but my LBA remained on the ground due to the bad weather.

Most of the transport have almost finished to unload and tomorro the entire fleet will start to return to Saigon and Singapore.

China

I placed a lot of LBA in Haiphong and Sanya to attack enemy afld on the south China coast. Today the results were minimal: 2 B-25, 2 SB2 and 5 I-153 destroyed, while I lost 3 Oscar, 4 Sally and 2 Helen.

Report of August 2nd ,1942

DEI

The US SAG with 3 BB arrived during the night in Batavia harbour and sunk DD Yugiri, DD Akatsuki, DD Hatsuyuki, 3 MSW, 7 AP and 1 AK. Only 2 AP still had troops onboard. I lost over 1’200 soldiers.
DD Hayabusa, already damaged, sunk in the Java Sea. Same destiny for other 3 AP.
CL Sendai took 4 torpedoes and 1 bomb in the Java Sea. He sunk in the afternoon, togheter with at least 20 transport ships.
The bad weather prevented my planes to take-off. Only 3 Nell attacked BB Warspite, and one of them has been shot down.

SURRENDER

Post by George Patton »

Today I formerly surrendered my forces to general Chuck. It would be usefull to go on.
I know, I still have a formidable navy, but the Army has been a disaster. A couple of division are trapped and are useless. In Indochina the situation is getting worse and worse. In Burma too.
In the DEI...no comment.

This is the first time I didn't obtained the historical objectives as japanese

Well done Chuck!
