USN/USMC groups arrive with planes. Except the fighter squadrons (because reasons [8|]). Problem is that (and any allied player will know this) is that they arrive without pilots and USN and especially USMC pilots are chronically short in supply.

You have carriers packed with pilots. Which is more important right now? Just saying . . .

Takes about a week for transfers doesn't it?

Or are they variable?

OK, you didn't get many planes, but you got an entire division's worth of squads and 500 tanks - and that's just for the US.

If you use "request veteran" it is almost always instant.

Right now I don´t really need any of the devices. I might in the coming weeks though. I will certainly push the armored divisions hard.

That's over 3 months of production for the squads, and when the type upgrades to 1943 or 1944 they will convert to the new type... which means faster upgrades for your divisions. Much faster.

I think it's variable, but I'm not a pilot expert. Say it's a week. Better sooner than later. I have lost track of where the carriers are, but my impression is Far To The West of LA. I'd pull them in, dump the pilots, use the time to repair the air wings' durability losses.

2nd Armored is big, but it's 1941 infantry, which can be fixed, but probably take a three-split and several days. Couple of the ER units have terrible experience levels too. They're still great units, but not magical.

If you think an offensive is going to matter if this WC move succeeds then you answered my question. I'm just saying you have options.

That's not really a fair question unless you also give the Japanese ER package a couple of million civilians with spears.

They can model 3 drunks in the middle of nowhere Australia, but can't 100's of old geezers with Colt 45's in downtown LA [;)]

Ward Douglas: No, sir, never.

Sergeant Frank Tree: You never restore this lever to firing position. Do not make sure that this cover is completely closed.

Ward Douglas: No sir.

Sergeant Frank Tree: Never depress operator's foot triggers here, here and at the rear here.

No turn from Jeff. Would have liked the replay so I could at least do a partial update this morning.

I can actually upgrade them straight away. In fact I hope they done that this turn. I have something like 300+ squads in the pools. Hence I´m not that excited about the extra squads in the ER package. [:)]

As Loka mentioned somewhere above this post you can get most of them instantly if you manually pick them using the "request veteran" button. That´s how I managed to teleport my best pilots in India to the P47 squadrons.

Well, yes and no. I´m not entirely unconcerned with this the WC invasion. But I´m not worried enough that I´m willing to forgo the opportunity this presents. I´m not quite ready to give up all the details yet but more info will come. [:)]

WC invasion thoughts
_____________________________________________________________________________

Regarding the WC OP IMO the worst possible outcome is that I lose SD. And extra division there would have made me feel much better. LA is just utterly impossible for the Japanese to overcome at this point as is SF.

Losing SD would be a big blow but not fatal one. Obviously it would wipe out most of my CAT production which would be a disaster. But it would not knock me out of the war. Some of it could be migrated by other means if needed. If I do lose SD I need to make sure I get something in return for it. Something war changing would

As I said earlier I remain positive. My preparations have paid off and besides 1 division not making it to SD in time everything are now in place and detraining. There is no immediate danger to lose anything critical and I can now sit back and wait for the ER to arrive at the scene. Once they arrive I will assess the situation again and if possible I will counter attack. I think Jeff made a big mistake by landing on both sides of LA as this has split his forces in two. Neither side will probably be strong enough to withstand an allied counter attack. The question will be if I can counterattack while making sure I dont lose LA to the other flank...having level 9 forts obviously helps with this.

Seattle just bumped its forts to level 9 and the engineers will rail south and begin expanding AFs behind LA. Air HQs and BFs are also railing in and will arrive in 2 days.

Morale at Allied HQ is high. I see this as an opportunity to be used! [:)]

Had this happened in early/mid 42 though...

If I remember SIGINT correctly there are 2 Japanese Tank divisions bound for the WC. Can´t find them in the editor though. Anyone knows their TOE or where to find it?

Should be #2255, 'IJA Armored Div'.

Ref San Diego - remember it's not quite isolated yet as you just received 100 or so transport aircraft; as long as you have the air over SD you can fly stuff in, though obviously at risk of transports being shot down etc. Got any light infantry sorts of units sitting around?

Thanks! [:)]

So about 100 Mediums and 75 Lights / Division.

Looking at the TOE he should have (if I read things correctly) Type 1 Mediums in his divisions right now. Looking at them it seems they actually outperform the M3 Lee by quite a bit. This could be problematic. Starting to regret I sent most of the TD battalions to India...

Going by memory I do have 1 Battalion of Jacksons. And USA 42 squads have a pretty good Anti Armor value (25). Once I can get stuff upgraded to 43 squads its bumped to 55 and Japanese armor becomes pretty much irrelevant.

I´m used to pretty much ignoring IJ Tank divisions as I only encountered them later in the game. This time I will pay attention though.

Are the Divs landed those you had seen prepping for Victoria/Vancouver.

Make sure this is the real deal before committing "too much"
