There will be ground support question soon. I will go to that step without the notional. But I can always go back to include the notional if you so desire at that point.

Impulse #9 (Axis)

The German HQA (Rundstedt) adds HQ support.

Germany fly one LND2 to add 7 points in ground support. USSR has one ART, one LND3, and two LND4, that can provide defensive ground support. Germany has one FTR3 available to intercept any incoming Soviet bombers. Will USSR add any defensive ground support?

And will the decision on the notional stand, or be reversed?

Note that it is Germany that will call the combat table.

So much fun to fire up a tight game of WIF that is into 1942 on a weekend day when you have an hour to think about it. What a great game. My ally Petteri is such a great mate to play with it's even more fun, not to mention that the Axis side is crazy good which makes it really a challenge. :)

On with the impulse....

40 JF i10 (allies):

USSR land, FF, US and CW combined

Naval air
2x FTR2 from UK to BoB box 0
FTR2 from Algeria to West Med box 2

Naval move
CW CP from South Africa to Gulf of Guinea
CW BB Hood in CSV drops from box 3 to box 0
US CA from Norfolk to CSV loading US MAR ENG from Portugal
US 1 cp Pearl -> Coral Sea
US TRS,BB,MAR Port Vila -> NZC 0 box

CW inits search in WM. CW FTR3 and NAV2 (Vildebeest) react to 2 box. Axis can also react:

CW inits search in WM. CW FTR3 and NAV2 (Vildebeest) react to 2 box. Axis can also react:
No additional air.

Axis will go with avoid combat if possible.

If it is air combat then Axis aborts the air combat after the first round. Axis will target bomber, if possible, in any air combat. If the FTR2 is aborted, then it lands in Toulon.

If there is any possibility for a second search, and there is some Axis SCS remaining, then Axis will abort the sea area. YUG ship sail towards Dubrovnik, and the Italian to La Spezia.

The Japanese SUB initiates combat in the Coral Sea.

The NAV3, in Rabaul, will fly to the 4-box.

The SUB will not be included in the combat.

If there is a naval air combat, then any and all surprise points will be used to increase the damage done.

The lowest possible guaranteed result that Japan select will be put on the CP. All other damage will be prioritized on the BB. For example, if the damage is 1D + 1A on the US ships, then the D will be put on the CP since that is the only result that Japan selects. Another example, If the result is 1D + 2A, then the first D is put on the BB since Japan is guaranteed another result (abort) on the CP. (Sink the BB is the goal, but make sure that there is one result remaining for the CP)

USS West Virginia was hit hard, but the damage control crews keeps her afloat, and in fighting condition.

What ship will be targeted for the 'damage' result?

And, if the CP isn't sunk, to what port will the CP abort?
