Thirty years ago to the day I ran into a bunch of Swedes on the island of Corfu on mid-summers eve. They made me an honorary Swede (well, I'm 1/8 Swedish anyway) and I had to do all the drinking stations along with the rest. At each station you had to do something like ten push-ups or sing a bawdy Swedish tune and then down a whole beer. Let's just say that was a pretty fun afternoon. Good thing I had the DNA to handle it.

Cheers,
CC

There are pluses and minuses to living anywhere, including my home. But I just gotta say: if I lived close to the Arctic Circle, knowing that every day after June 21 is shorter and that the calendar is heading remorselessly to winter would drive me nuts.

Thanks for reminding me.

Well, you can flip it around. In Georgia, every day after December 21 is longer and the calendar is heading remorselessly to hot, humid, hazy, bug-filled summer.

It is amazing how much the human brain is harmonized with the seasons. You can predict by looking at the sun when the daffodils are going to come up and the Monarchs come back and when the HOA will send you a warning letter about the trashcans.

So did you ever re-paint to the 'approved' color, or just leave the contractor's ladder in place and paint it to match? [:D]

Got the turn.

Another 28 Zeroes shot down. This time Akagi airgroups where confirmed among the victims! Tomorrow will hopefully be nasty for KBs airgroups. I need to chase KB away so I can lauch LBA naval strikes. With KB in the hex they simply refuse to fly. Not sure how many escorts the engine deems necessary for this but I had 50+ Kittens set to escort but still no strikes. [:(]

I´ll try to get a proper update up later but first I have to do the turn.

Invasion WC Day 3
_____________________________________________________________________________

The day starts with Japanese BBs and CAs bombarding LA. I thought this wouldn´t be much of a problem. I mean level 9 forts and a level 10 AF...wrong. Its closed with 60/62 damage. [X(]

This means no strikes flying tomorrow except some smaller ones. P47/P38 sweeps will go in over Santa Ana tomorrow.

Jeff is moving out from Santa Ana in 3 directions. Towards SD, LA and March field. This is excellent news. 2 more days and all the troops will be in place for the counter attack. I have yet to decide if I will wait for all of them to detrain before moving out or not.

A has chickenpox so the longer update I promised will have to wait. Typing this on the pad.

As far as I can tell the only purpose of the 5th toe is to not scare people at the beach and to keep from breaking the 4th toe.

It still hurts like a demon.

Broken toes are awful - since you really can't do anything about it.

Maybe he can get some sympathy from his wife? Tender, tender sympathy? If so the toe might be worth it.

If you push a pain argument with women eventually it gets around to labor, and we don't win that one.

Yes, that toe hurts quite a bit - but at least you still have it. Pain is to let you know that you are still alive.

[:D] That's just some weakness leaving your body, Joc!
