Note: This link to WITP-AE Revolving Bitmap Distribution Manager V1.6 contains a set of MS-DOS script files (with instructions) that you will find very useful if you wish to create your own rotating aircraft side and/or top art set.

To get the best out of this artwork you should have Cathartes' AE planetops installed as well. This is not required but will provide a better match between styles of the default and rotating artwork.

Thank you to divepac88 that did this for me.

This looks really good and will make an excellent placeholder for IJN ship screens.

Can someone make up a ready install package for all the major IJN combatants??

(You shouldn't need to do it by hand, there must be a utility or graphics package function that will make multiple copies and automatically renumber them to all the slots....)

47. Added hooks for revolving ship art similar to aircraft.

The ship art can now revolving.[:D]

It is basically same structure as for the plane folders, but a bit easier as ships are already individual images.
But I'll update the current doc when I get a chance.

AlliedShip_back  (standard/default)
AlliedShip_backYY (where YY is the game year)
AlliedShip_backYY/MM (where YY is the game year and MM is a month with the year)

JapShip_back  (standard/default)

I have updated my revolving artwork utility to handle rotating ship as well as aircraft artwork based on the info above.
(Michael, I assume the transparency files (Shils) are treated in exactly the same fashion...)

If anyone would like this utility to make the creation and formatting of rotating ship art distributions a lot easier, please feel free to use it. (I don't do ships...)

The instructions including a tutorial are included in the zip file.

Any suggestions on how to make this tool (or the instructions) better will be gratefully accepted.

Updated to Version 1.3 due to a bug where the "All Years" image wasn't being written to the correct folder.

Most are paint fixes on the borders and such.

A few are hidden gems for obscure airgroups, that I've happened to stumble upon.[:D]

Is what I recommend, is to unzip them to a seperate desktop folder.
Then you can actually see the thumbs.[;)]

Paste them to the correct art folder, then it'll ask you to overwrite.
Click no, then you can see which is leftover.
Then you can compare it to the old bitmap.
You can then decide whether to replace the older version.

If you are talking about the V1106c Patch 4 Beta, the attachment shows all the included bitmaps.

This comprehensive patch includes the game interface, map, default aircraft side and top art, default ship side and transparency files. It looks like there will be few items of the new artwork posted in this thread that will be over written by the official patch. However, you may still need to re-install Carthartes' new aircraft tops if you had it installed.

Edit: I use JoneSoft Mod Enabler so I can uninstall my mods, apply the patch then reinstall the mods knowing that nothing has been overwritten.
