Have spent the afternoon working to consolidate ALL the special ship art done for the three Mods. Should allow for simpler work so there is less confusion. Will be doing the same for Air Art next.

John, Vader5 and I are poised to begin a BTS PBEM game. This may be a newbie question, but if we begin a game, will future fixes to BTS be compatible with a BTS "game in progress"?

This will be the third AE PBEM game for each of us, Vader5 & I, though our previous PBEM games involved different opponents for both of us. Thanks for your work on this mod, and for the work done by your colleagues as well.

As long it is only database changes you will be good.

The chances of major issues within BTS is very thin due to it simply being existing RA 7.0 PLUS Treaty. Go for it!

hi,

there is a failure in your database: ship class 1110 Aoba 12/44 becomes a wpn2 1657 20cm/50?

the ships Unyo (025) and Chuyo (026) are without any regular ship class (1868). Taiyo is 1865. Is this your intention?

It's possible to allow all takao-class ships to rebuild as Maya-CAAA? You are building some Shokaku-kai, but your AA-screen is more than useless.
It's possible to bring all new created air croups inline with the original designations? Because it's a fantastic scanario you can use any FAA-, RNZAF-, RAAF- and USN designations. And some ships like the Resolution will arrive with two air croups (here with "resolution" and Nr.700 Sqd FAA S-4) - btw. the same issue in the RA-scen.

My Mod Folder got corrupted this morning. The executable crashes in the same place three times. [:@]

I have to re-install a HUGELY modified Folder and am completely depressed at having to do this.

CRAP is the nicest word going through my mind currently...

@John:

Are there any files that any of us can send you to help ease the pain? Very sorry to hear that your installation got corrupted :/

@thinman:

RE Aoba-class, you are correct. It should be device 1660, not device 1657. That is easy to correct with the editor.
RE Unyo & Chuyo, if I understand correctly, they are not part of the reinforcement pipeline. Instead, there are 5x xAPs (Argentina, Asama, Brazil, Kamakura & Tatsuta Marus) that can be converted to Kaiyo-class CVEs starting on June '42. The conversion takes 240 days, and requires a shipyard with a minimum size of 25.
RE Takao-class, no. I suggested that either all Takao-class were allowed to convert, or none of them, but my suggestion was not accepted, so only Maya can become a CAAA. Also, please remember that this is the Kaigun, not the RN. Anti aircraft was definitely not their forte.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey Kitakami.

Thanks for the offer. I'll have to do a complete install and it will BLOW CHUNKS!

1. Aoba Fixed.
2. The five or so large APs are allowed to convert to CVE along the lines you describe. Pays to keep them out of Harm's Way until conversion. I use them as a Fast Convoy for moving troops out of Shanghai or Tokyo after I've bought them out.
3. Takao-Class SHOULD be fixed. Are you sure of this? Remember looking at your suggestion a while ago and acting on it. Please check that again if you can.

STUPID question: WHERE is the last patch at? I need it before I install the Beta and then DaBabes stuff.

Reinstalling a heavily modded WitP-AE is no fun at all. Been there, done that.

Regarding the 3 Takaos, I just checked the database, and they upgrade their 4x 12cm/45 to 8x 10cm/65, but they keep their 5x double 20cm turrets and do not get the additional 4x 10cm/65 in two additional turrets as the Maya does. If you want all four ships to get the increased AA suite, the easiest solution is probably to make class 1124 (Takao) a "convert from" class, and class 1130 (Maya) a "convert to class", with a conversion delay of 60 days.

EDIT: changed my suggestion.
