Nice to see the first signs of the steamroller getting in motion!

Has the admiral devised a counter-trap for the Ocean Island area? Like maybe form an empty Amphib TF and dangle it near Ocean Island when your carriers are in the area?

Absolutely! I have ten days of work in SoPac, mopping up I hope, and I am going to try and bait him up north. I want him to think Tarawa, but Ocean is OK to.
I would rather have him hiding in the Marshalls than the Gilberts if possible, we'll see.

Building Up Portland Roads is important for whatever your plans are going to be. It puts Port Moresby and Horn Island in range of BB TFs and medium bombers preceded by P-38 sweeps. I used it to base those old, slow BBs to bomb Horn into dust. Great for increasing night experience for warships. [;)]

Playing DBB newer air data from the start for the first time. Early war Allied air models are not all that bad. P-38s have speed and altitude going for them and the Hurricane IIc have those nasty 20mm cannons. In previous game, we switched to new data on Jan 1st '43. The T-Birds are truly nasty planes against anything.

Fantastic result!
In the side pic it looks like they had to cut the tips off the elephant's tusks so it wouldn't puncture the plane!

If Noumea is only showing 1000 enemy troops, why are you bothering with the Isle of Pines? A good bombardment and landing he 4th Marines and Noumea is yours.

Well, I should point out the map above has an error. The 1st marine Raiders landed at Tanna. There was resistance as well. They still
got ashore in good order. PHEW!

Why Isle of Pines:
1.) I play a bit on the "romantic" side. The boys (10av) have been stranded there since the debacle last fall. I wanted
to free them.
2.) The MO for Lars is give it up and take it back. I want air up as soon as possible with the least amount of naval air
support as possible. Kido Butai is intact. He may have wanted to preserve his ground forces, but I know he would
like a naval engagement sooner rather than later. I think he may be presuming I am two carriers less than fact.
3.) I want as many possible bases around any objective I take to give me some cover during the heavy reinforcement
to follow.

More difficult to close two air bases than one...

Judging by the eyeball of that first guy, you found some zombie Marine Raiders to do your dirty work. Just point them at the enemy and say

"Over there boys! Look ... Brains!"
