Turn 190

The 1945 upgrades see the first 40 CV rifle corps of the game. I almost feel sorry for the Germans.........lol only kidding.

I looked back through the entire AAR .. That move you made with the 4th Guards Army from the south to the north by rail and then taking the offence by surprise was the beginning of the end. The Germans never recovered after the first push ... very nice job sir! ..

Isn't that him, exiting the bunker, with a bottle of wine in one hand and a drunk woman in the other.

Yes the switch North was important, but the turning point was especially the breakthrough into Finland I think.

Turn 191

Very brave and stubborn defending but the massed guards corps are unstoppable. Only a thin corridor remains for supplies to reach Berlin.

Turn 192. The end is nigh.

Berlin isolated and North and West Berlin overrun.

Even Hitler is starting to admit that maybe the war is not going so well.

Turn 193

The end comes with a massive assault on the German capital preceeded by a monumental artillery bombardment.

Great game by Tim. As I told him earlier I think he won the game in '42 with a very skillful defense. I only really had one decent pocket and he used strongpoints in key urban locations to slow me down. I never could achieve a breakthrough.

I'd encourage axis players to play on into the end of the game more often. You still have strong mobile forces and can occasionally give the Soviets a bloody nose and frustrate him a bit. It's a part of the game that doesn't get enough "love".

Thanks for the game Tim, you are an excellent opponent!
