I'll have to take a look and reacquaint myself with the game. IIRC the Italians couldn't get in the game (and by that I mean I was too lily-livered) and couldn't find an opportunity to get them in the game - while the Japanese had other issues - probably down to the commander not knowing what the hell he's doing..... [:D]

Not much for the Italians to go to war for. In good weather there would be the 2:1 attack through the Alps but not in rain.

Looking at Japan, you could get 3:1 on the two units in the mountains by Changsha. A more speculative attempt would be ground-striking the two OOS Nationalist units near Sian. If it worked (long odds) you could disorganise 2 Jap units and bring everything back in supply for probably another 3:1 but with reasonable fractional.

Okay thanks. I'm out for most of today so happy for you to do the do.

Nothing with Italy

Land with Japan. Two ground strikes against Changsha. In the movement phase can you get the ART west of the river and move the Engineer northwest please?

Just checking the ground strikes are on Changsha, rather than the 2 units in the mountains east. Are you going to attack them? Do you want to make any other land moves as Japan?

Arrgghhh! [:@] Sorry the ground strikes are against the units in the mountains. If I get a +1 I will attack. No other moves.

Evening My Dear Fellow,

No problem.

Moving on to Game 4/Nordic 2,

The CW will need to take a Combined to put their last CP into the North Atlantic plus one other naval move and a couple of land moves. Wavell will continue to Toulouse, the MOT will move up behind the line and the INF Div in Somaliland will capture Mogadishu.

It would be helpful if the French can do a combined and also put their CP into the North Atlantic. We'll still be 4 CP's short but it's the best we can do. Everything else is disorganised.

If there's nothing else to do up to Land movement, I'll do the CW ones and hand over to you for the rest of the impulse. Ending the turn would be helpful but if not, lousy weather even better.

I hope this is okay as a change. Moving the ENG NW disorganised it. I've moved it SW instead. This enabled the INF and INF Div SE of the mountains to push to the West and put the resource hex under ZOC, which will deny it to the Allies.

Well, the German attack went well but failure in China.

The end of turn is a mixed blessing but could prove to our advantage. I would have liked to continue attacking but it would have been 30% chance only for fine weather and against a reorganised line. Odds would likely not be brilliant. Now, the Japanese can reorganise after the disaster. If we win the initiative, the Germans will get a shot at the Allied second line, currently only manned by single units.

No, definitely not hopelessly.

I E-mailed you the game file so could do the French, Chinese and USSR moves.

I may have forgotten to say no rebases or reorgs.

I haven’t moved the Nationalists. I thought you’ d taken over running them. Or was that in a different universe?

Anyway, if not, it makes some sense.

No idea - I've lost track, but quite happy to do so given you have the CW and the USA.

Good evening my dear fellow,

For UK vs Nordic 2 (Game 4), I could do with your end of turn instructions to carry on the fight.

For UK vs Nordic 1 (Game 3), Germany will do a land move. What do the Italians and Japanese wish to do?

Game 4

I seem to have 6 points with France - not sure why the French resource at 55,32 is idle but I can't get it to a factory even though I have 3 factories idle. Any ideas why?

Soviet Union

Defensive Marker

China 3 BP
France 6 BP (I'll assume this is correct)
Soviet Union 8 BP

RTB
French fleet in Eastern Med to Beirut
Sub to Marseilles

Oil
France reorganises all except Tourville for no oil expenditure

Production
China - 1 x INF
France - 2 x MIL, 1 x PIL
Soviet Union - 1 x INF, 1 x GARR, 1 x PIL, 1 x Saved in Moscow

Reinforcement
France - Potez (Paris) Hawk (Rouen) TRS (Bordeaux)
Soviet Union - INF and INF DIV (Odessa)
China - INF (Lanchow)

Sounds good. Don't think there will be much movement but some adjustments to optimise whatever attack(s) I decide on.
