Germany creates Vichy France. US reacts negatively and 2 US entry chits are drawn (18 rolled).

I think there might be a bug in what Vichy administrative group some French minor belongs. I thought that French Somaliland belonged to Asian Minor Countries and Territories so it should have become a Vichy territory, but here it was rolled as Free France. It seems to me that none of the territories rolled Free French is a better fit.

Same objection to Belgian Congo. Although this time I thought it belonged to 'Other minor countries and territories'.

Are you sure FSL is part of Asian minors? I thought it was part of the Equatorial Africa as it is usually Free French but I might be way of base. It is not in Asia after all.

No. I wasn't sure. Now I am after checking the rules, FAQ, and forum. Apparently the FSL belongs to the other minor category.

Cut from FAQ:
Q17.2-7 I am playing with the African map. What
happens to French somaliland if it is still
French controlled when Vichy is declared?
A: You roll for it on the "All other territories &
minors" row of the Free-French chart (see
WiF 17.2). Date 13/01/2009

xxx

The following was found on the forum: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.a ... =&#3234945

Free-French Chart* (Administration group: Die (% chance to become Free French))
1) Morocco (Capital: Rabat), Algeria (Capital: Algiers), and Tunisia (Capital: Tunis): 10 (10%)

2) French West Africa: 9–10 (20%)
French Guinea (Capital: Konakri), French Sudan (Capital: Bamako), Ivory Coast (Capital: Bingerville), Niger Colony (Capital: Niamey), Senegal (Capital: Dakar), Togo & Dahomey (Capital: Togo), Upper Volta (Capital: Oungadougou), and Mauretania (Capital: St. Louis)

3) Syria (Capital: Damascus): 9–10 (20%)

4) French Indo-China (Capital: Hanoi): 9–10 (20%)

5) Madagascar (Capital: Antanarivo): 8–10 (30%)

6) All Asian map minors & territories: 7–10 (40%)
Comoros Islands and Reunion Islands

7) French Equatorial Africa: 3–10 (80%)
Chad (Capital: Fort Lamy), Ubangi-Sharie (Capital: Bangui), Cameroons (Capital: Younde), Gabon (Capital: Libreville), Middle Congo (Capital: Brazzaville).

8) All Pacific map minors & territories: 2–10 (90%)
New Caledonia (territory) and all French Pacific islands

9) All other territories & minors: 9–10 (20%)
French Somaliland (Capital: Jibuti), French Guyana (Capital: Cayenne) (South America map) and all French islands on the Americas map

So the chart looks like this.

Note: Reunion Islands (FR) are east of Madagascar so I added them to the Asian map Administration group.

If you use debug tools, one can change the control of the country to Vichy. And I think that a bug report needs to be done, regarding this one, since it's a new bug.

CW
Modify (1 oil, minimum) to China
Japan has politically closed the Burma Road. I see no practical way that this oil can be delivered to China. The oil can, of course, be dumped in the Chinese minor ports of Wenchow, or Foochow, but that seems very impractical since a Chinese oil there is more likely to benefit Japan than China. Therefore I remove the CW trade to China. (I can always go back and change if I missed something)

Edit: The French trade to China was also removed.

Both sides rolled 2 for initiative. Allies win ties and therefore the initiative because Axis declines to demand a re-roll.

Not often you see a disorganized HQ at the start of the Turn. Timoshenko had bad luck when the turn abruptly ended and found himself out of oil reach, due to ZOC and enemy hexes.
