Turn 11. May/June 1941. EOT-PBR The Med.

Competitive:
1. The CW player decides to grind it out in the Med against the Italian navy.
2. Any equal to slightly less than equal exchange of RN ships and planes for Italian ships and planes is considered acceptable.
3. Basically, the CW player decides on a strategy of attrition to wear down and eventually neutralize the Italian navy.
4. The Italian player who clear sees the intention of the CW player decides that he will only fight for the Italian Coast and then really only to protect the flow of resources through that sea area. Also, he has an incentive to discourage CW amphibious operations against Italy proper and Sardinia for as long as he can.
5. The Italian player has decided not to spend any more BPs for the production, or even repair, of surface ships. For now on his contribution to defending the Italian Coast and Italy will be in the form of subs and air in addition to ground.
6. Overall I'd say the CW player was happy with the naval attrition this turn in the Med.
7. The Italian player on the other hand was not happy with the losses he took but on the brighter side was happy that he continued to get 2 RPs through the Italian Coast to his factories.
8. However, he's no fool and knows that this isn't going to last. The Med and, soon the Italian coast, will be an allied lake.

Turn 11. May/June 1941. Nazi-Soviet Pact.

1. Stuffing the border was part of my script for the Soviet player.
2. Stuffing the border prevented Germany and Italy from launching Barbarossa this turn.
3. However, with the optional rule "Breaking the German-Soviet pact", the defensive multiplier will drop from 1 to 0.75 next turn and will "easily" allow Germany to break the pact.
4. Though a bit "off script" the Soviet player just couldn't let all his aircraft be caught up in the on-slaughter and decided to move them to safer bases further back from the front.
5. Also, the Soviet player did what he could to improve his forward based, stuffing defense.
6. But my take is that the Soviets are going to see a number of units destroyed when Barbarossa kicks off next turn.
7. It's going to be fun to see what can be saved and how, or if, Germany/Italy can be stopped eventually.

Turn 11. May/June 1941. EOT-PBR. Finland/Arctic Front.

The Script.
1. I haven't quite work out all the details but I'm going to script this front so that the Finns won't be used as shock troops far away from Finland and the rail-line to Murmansk won't easily be cut.
2. I think it's just to darn easy for the axis to cut the rail-line and isolate Murmansk, effectively negating the potential of Murmansk convoys.

Turn 11. May/June 1941. Battle of the Atlantic.

1. Diminished sub and surface raiding threat.
2. Also a good turn for the CW player in the Atlantic even though the saw 6 CPs lost and another 3 aborted.

Turn 11. May/June 1941. Partisans.

1. Japan loses a RP because of a CCP partisan.
2. I guess the Japanese player wasn't playing as close attention to covering (by zoc) his captured RPs as he should have been.

Turn 11. May/June 1941. US Entry.

1. A biggie ... the US player is able to pass the war appropriations option immediately increasing his production multiplier from 0.5 to 0.75.

for scripting Finland "northern front" - the soviets had garrisons on the border and the Finns were more or less only concerned with reclaiming their lands. so allow the Finns to move no further than 1 hex from their original borders (or even only into original borders) thereby forcing at least 1 or 2 garrisons to hold the rail hexes that would be ZOC'd (near Salla)
i think this would more or less follow historical pattern (the 1 or 2 garr would really be spread over a much larger section of the border but so would the Finns - more at a brigade level)
the Finns had zero interest in attacking russia (maybe there were some elements, on a roll of 10 once a year maybe the government changes? +1 or +2 if Leningrad is taken). They survived as an independent country post war due to this
