Turn 33. Axis. November 22, 1940. Libya/Egypt. Start of Turn

1. This front remained static.
2. The only action was that the Italian army south of the tanks was reinforced a step or two.

Turn 33. Axis. November 22, 1940. China. End of Turn

1. A little bit of action in the north.
2. Japan rebased her land base air to the north to support an offensive there.
3. But afterwards it occurred to me that Northern China is headed for the season of poor weather so an offensive is probably not wise.
4. Reinforcement and readjustment of lines in the south and center.

Turn 33. Axis. November 22, 1940. Western Front. Start of Turn

1. Rain in the southern half of France but clear in the northern part, which means the Luftwaffe in that part can still fly (against Paris which has clear skies).
2. Time to end the "Battle of France." Paris will (should) fall this turn.

Turn 33. Axis. November 22, 1940. Western Front. End of Turn

1. Paris does indeed fall (finally!).
2. I believe this should end the "Battle of France" so German forces start their move to the East, including Rommel and his DAK in Italy.

Turn 33. Axis. November 22, 1940. Decision Event. Vichy.

1. Being my first game of SCWAW, I'm intent on following the historical outline.
2. So, no going for the outright conquest of France and a "Close the Med" strategy.
3. Yes to installing Vichy.

Turn 35. Axis. December 20, 1940. Strategic Advice.

I putting this up as a reminder of the two triggers for launching Barbarossa. Which are:
(1) USSR reaches 90% mobilization
(2) Weather is good.

Of course, I will have to have the bulk of the Germany army and Luftwaffe sitting on the border too. Preferably upgraded and reinforced to the max.

Turn 35. Axis. December 20, 1940. Research. Germany.

1. At the start of the turn Germany had 525 MPPs left in their 2000 MPP research ceiling.
2. Germany purchased research chits in (a) Production Technology, (b) Industrial Technology and (c) Rocket Weapons, which left them with only 50 MPPs before reaching the ceiling. Effectively, they are at the max research allocation.
3. Also, I took notice of the infantry and armor related research areas close to reaching their next level.
4. So I decide to hold off on buying any new units or making upgrades until those next levels were reached.
5. Well, except for the 5 garrisons I bought which will be used for occupation duties in the West.

2. As such, infantry, panzer and Luftwaffe units are (re) mobilized to the East and Balkans.
3. Not shown, but German does has a garrison in Bordeaux.

Turn 35. Axis. December 20, 1940. Germany. Mobilization East and Balkans.

1. No sure this matters, or if I'm making too much of it. But I want to keep the fact that the DAK isn't going to North Africa from my opponent for as long as possible (assuming he doesn't already know).
2. So, Rommel and his DAK will not be used in the Balkans and will be kept hidden (I hope) until the launch of Barbarossa.
3. Rommel along with most of the non-garrison forces in the West start/continue to make their way East.
4. I plan to get as many of them as possible there, in place, rested, reinforced and upgraded before Barbarossa.

Turn 35. Axis. December 20, 1940. Battle of the Atlantic (2/4).

1. U-73 had to stay deep in order to (hopefully) get past the RN.
2. So, it's still not on the hunt for allied convoys.
