Re: Sardaukar's 6th (public) GC vs IJ AI (Newbie friendly)
*sees the air attacks hitting all the ships in Batavia*
Why is Sardaukar keeping all of those ships in port instead of evacuating them to safer areas?

Because they are very small ships and not worth much. Most have been previously heavily damaged and would not make it to Australia anyway.Warofthe2ndWorld wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 11:15 am *sees the air attacks hitting all the ships in Batavia*

I hope you are moving Yorktown and Enterprise every turn. That picture of the P-NG area showed 8 IJ subs that you had detected - there were likely more. I'm pretty sure the AI's response to carriers is to send every sub and warship within reasonable range to attack them. (And they are flying Buffalo fighters!).

Buffalos are extra USMC squadron on CV, There is also extra USMC DB squadron on other carrier.BBfanboy wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 3:59 pm I hope you are moving Yorktown and Enterprise every turn. Buffalos have longer range, so they can escort Dauntlesses to max. range.

Re: Sardaukar's 6th (public) GC vs IJ AI (Newbie friendly)
Almost got a carrier battle, but good thing it didn't happen. My CVs were ordered back to Sydney previous turn, because they had only about 100 sorties left per carrier and very few torpedoes.
IJN CV/CVLs managed to attack my CVs couple of times, because of longer range of their planes. Didn't work too well for them, but neither did my land-based air too well vs. IJN pilots...

Re: Sardaukar's 6th (public) GC vs IJ AI (Newbie friendly)
Not the best idea to get to carrier battle without ordnance.
Lucky that managed to withdraw in time, though 2x CV vs. CV and 2xCVL is quite even...but without torpedoes...

Re: Sardaukar's 6th (public) GC vs IJ AI (Newbie friendly)
I say that worked out well for you. Mr. AI was coming for your carriers while he had advantages in pilot experience and strike range. A carrier clash would be a bit in his favour because your relatively inexperienced pilots would not likely have got enough (exploding) hits to sink his CV and probably would have lost one or both or yours (weather being equal for both sides). He also had a strong surface force to go after cripples.
Instead you got him fighting your LBA which dropped many experienced Kate and Val pilots and a few Zeros too. Points wise, the battle came out close to a draw but in the long term, you won by eliminating those pilots. In a few months when you can put together four US CVs, you can go carrier hunting with some confidence!

Re: Sardaukar's 6th (public) GC vs IJ AI (Newbie friendly)
I also want to have the VF-squadrons to resize to 36, even though I can remedy fighter situation by adding USMC VMF when there is space. Extra dive bombers helped too.
I could not do much vs. IJN BBs, since Devastator is such a shitty torpedo bomber. But first Avengers are coming out, so that will remedy that thing too.
