How good is SC Braga? And when does the Portuguese season begin?

Realise I have been terribly remiss in charting the traditional July exit of Scottish clubs from European football.

Well you will be pleased to know that Aberdeen are contributing in the traditional style having drawn 1-1 at home to Siroki Brijeg they are well placed to be knocked out on Thursday. Unfortunately Celtic seem determined not to add to the general glee in Glasgow (after Rangers' disaster) and lead Linfield 2-0 with the home leg today. Looks like they may actually last into August?

Yes I've been following this debacle sadly.... C'mon Linfield, make my day - and of course Aberdeen too.

I fear its now down to Aberdeen to maintain standards ...
warspite1

...and with 45 minutes to go, sadly standards are duly being maintained (currently out on the away goals rule).... [:(]

At least you have some English clubs to cheer for. [;)]

The British team coaching Östersunds FK has made a sterling job. Since Graham Potter joined the team in 2011 the club has advanced three divisions in five years and thereby reached Allsvenskan, the top league. After one season in Allsvenskan they won the Swedish Cup and therefore qualifying, for the first time ever, to play in Europe.

In their first match ever in Europa League they go out against Galatasaray and outplay them at home and win by 2-0. And then they go to their home field and play a 1-1 draw. [X(] [:)]

Spurs do not seem too interested in making any signings - or so it seems. As was said during the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea last season, Spurs really didn't have a bench to call upon. And as things stand we've actually depleted our squad further.

I have no doubt a signing or two will be made, but this is a very risky/bold? strategy for a team that hopes to get in the Champions League next season. All competitors have strengthened their squads meanwhile.....

You do know that winning Champions League gives a new ticket even if you fail in the league. [;)]

Mourinho's is right, the players price is too high.

If Neymar goes to PSG for £168m or whatever it is, then football is clearly on a very slippery slope..... [:(]

England has been looking good in the European Championship.

England vs France should be interesting.

Re Spurs, this season all the good work of the last two seasons evaporates as Spursy implode under the enormity of expectation and playing at Wembley. Recriminations on-field lead to Poch's sacking in February and wholesale transfers out of the sinking ship in January and at the end of the season. Meanwhile, off-field the stadium runs into problems - they used the wrong sand/water/aggregate mix and the structure is declared unsafe and so not available for opening until 2020 when we will be hosting Championship matches.

Remember where you heard it first......
warspite1

Manchester City 3-0 Spurs

And believe me - that scoreline flattered us massively. But for the post and some woeful finishing, that would have been a cricket score.....

[sing along - you know the words] There may be trouble ahead......

No nickname that I am aware of. Although what do I know? [&:][:D]

I think England will beat France. They have looked far better than France so far.

And what the cute catanimal jynx has to do with football eludes me. [&:] [:'(] [:D]

Now that Germany is out of the competition; England should be able to go all the way.
