a convoy is going to Akyab with this cruiser TF as escorts. The Brits spotted us today, being two hexes off Akyab. Tomorrow there will be 100 fighters at Akyab on 90% Cap and 300 fighters at Mandalay on LRCAP Akyab to scare away the Wellingtons. I´m not afraid of any Allied fighters but the bombers will most likely make it through if they get one bigger strike. Could be a blood bath if they attack my transports, even though the British bomber pilots should only be in the high 50s or low 60s...

then the Allied bombers are launching against our ships. I´m really amazed, it seems Swift is doing nothing. I wonder if he even gives orders... [&:] at all those Southern Indian bases there are those small numbers of fighters on Cap and also his bombers are spread out. He should have launched a BIG strike with all his bombers concentrated at one or two bases, but he didn´t. It´s too easy this way...
Nevertheless I was disappointed about the Cap number, considering I had 400 fighters on my airfields...

my SC TF reacted during the night to Chandpur (glitch, bug, call it how you like) for no reason. TF was set to follow the transport TF, reaction set to 0. This is nuts as TFs should only react to your base if the base is attacked, but this TF reacted to Chandpur where this PT TF was leaving during the night. The ship movements in this area are screwed anyway as those PTs surely should have attacked at night (range 4). I see the same sh*t in my game against PzJg Hortlund, in this area most times the ships get stuck or do crazy things, I don´t know why. So my SC TF isn´t in the hex anymore and we lose a PG... great...

this is the last spotted sub laid mine field and it was cleared today. After spotting a dozen Allied subs around our bases, they have all left again, which means they were only on mine laying duty. They achieved to sink one PC and the time going to and from their target took them surely more than a month. That´s fine with me, hopefully my opponent will keep concentrating on his mine laying in the future also! [:D]

I have no clue why Swift ordered another deliberate attack here, when he suffered horrendous losses last time already. Impossible to dislodge 6 IJA divisions from this urban hex. The few losses we took were mostly within the HQ unit in the lead, our combat units took nearly no losses at all... The Chinese were able to cut our troops in Chungking off, as they marched two units into the road hex South of Chungking. Being aware of this move and with plenty of time anyway I moved two IJA divs to the hex two hexes South of Chungking and ordered them to move North. They will arrive in their target hex within a week and will open the supply path again. In the meantime I have ordered 200+ IJA bombers to attack the two Chinese units that cut our supply route.
Meanwhile in Australia, my troops are marching South. The majority is marching on the rail towards Townsville and around 1000 assault points are marching towards Alice Springs. I don´t know where the 1500 Australian assault points were marching when they left the North, but I guess I will meet most of them in Townsville. Here´s the current intel screen. I thought we will destroy a lot of Allied ground troops in Northern Australia and would go through a 8:1 score but as the Allied decided to retreat we haven´t achieved that yet. 7:1 is excellent, I have never achieved a 8:1 though and we will see how the fight in Australia will go on. For the moment we are very satisfied with the situation on the whole map and we´re looking forward to receiving the Tojo in late 42 which will make us ready to take on the next Allied fighter generations.

this is the last spotted sub laid mine field and it was cleared today.

Here´s the current intel screen. one of IMO Swift´s faults (besides putting up this kind of Cap) is the fact that he totally dispersed his base forces into more than a dozen bases in Southern India. This was he hasn´t the radar coverage he would need and the Allied fighters don´t get the bounce they need to perform at least a little better. First there was no bounce at all, when the Zeroes engaged in battle they bounced from 30.000ft and had a field day, taking down a dozen British fighters including the first two Spits shot down.

well, this big TF moved in without being spotted. Must have been in range of some 5 dozen aircraft set to search... bad luck. But what about the result? I guess this result pretty much shows that the common thinking on the forum about Allied naval bombardments is totally wrong. The Allied side is just as easily able to nuke bases like the Japanese. No, they can even nuke 10 times more bases, due to 5 times more BBs, dozens of CA/CL more...
My support units are completely shredded despite sitting behind level 9 forts. This again proves that the common thinking about forts against naval bombardments is wrong also and I have seen this since beginning to do PBEMs. If the detection level is high enough, then there´s a nuke and even if there would be a fort level 3000, it wouldn´t help you. My support units are 90%+ disabled after one attack. [8|]
But the absolute worst fact is that 24 supply hits resulted in more than 8000 supplies being destroyed. [:(]

like the 10 month so far, the Allied figthers are worth nothing. Wonder when this will change. In late 44? Then I will have thousands of Franks... Wonder if my excellent pilots can deal with the Corsair when they are all flying Tojos. I think so, as Oscars can easily deal with Spitfires and the Spitfire should be clearly superior to an Oscar.

One hex East there are 11 units in position at the moment and Swift complained that he has problems to launch ground attacks with his bombers. Not a single attack so far, can´t figuere out why... with over 400.000 troops attacking we already achieve a 1:1 but again we are hit hard (as are the defenders). Our 6 eng regiments are 97% disabled on average and our av dropped from 7250 to 6165 while we lost 15 points for ground losses. The Allied lost 8 points for ground losses today. Level 6 forts, so I expect the base to fall after the next 5 or 6 attacks, which will mean another 30.000+ casualties and about 1,5-2 months of fighting here.

this is the first sweep we launched from Akyab. Asansol seems to be the BIG airbase in India as it is the only one that has hundreds of aircraft accomodated (if I can trust my recon). Also there must be a lot of radar in this area, as the Allied fighters had the bounce through nearly the whole engament hitting one of our daitais hard. While we are still clearly victorious, the bounce is the difference between losing 8:1 and this time 3,5:1.
Our most succesful daitai with the most aces in it lost one of the best pilots of the war so far... [:(]

here you can see once again that bombers on ground attack are NOT hardcoded to attack the LCU with the highest assault value. That´s just another myth. They attack a unit with 0 assault value in this case.
