Its an Australian/American joint effort that gets the PI well on the way to liberation.

Once again the Soviet bombers simply can't hit anything. A panzergrenadier unit is destroyed south of Vitebsk, but every German unit lost costs the Soviets 3 or 4.

You may not be aware that it's more difficult to do significant damage during winter/frozen/snow turns, be it by air or ground. Yes it was a design decision, one that doesn't seem backed up by history, but it's how the game currently works.

Sadly nothing to report this turn.....

The Japanese retreated further in China and gave up Wuhan.

The Chinese weren't able to do much about it.

The Chinese land in Korea to see what the Japanese have there. Not much. The Soviets push forward to hopefully take Pyongyang in the next couple of turns.

The Allies can do nothing about the PI or Batavia.

In the USSR, the Germans take some hits but nothing serious.

Sadly mistakes continue to abound. Kanga Force moves out of the way for one of the Indian units to move in - only to find neither can.....

But at least the Japanese defences on Batavia continue to reduce.

The Japanese in Northern China fall back in Tsingtao. I have no naval units with which to stop any escape.

The Japanese don't wait to be destroyed and evacuate Korea. The Japanese units on mainland Japan must be building up nicely....

As a result of this premature evacuation, Zhukov is ordered to Europe.

I hope the Japanese have no bombers or naval assets nearby, because yet another mistake sees 10th Army unable to land....

But the P.I. is almost cleared.

In Southern China Stilwell won't be making too much progress with what he has available, but he can expect reinforcements from the north (hopefully) soon.

The biggest mistake of the turn I reserve for the USN

I have to reinforce and upgrade, then turn the ships around and head for Japan ASAP.... forgetting to upgrade and reinforce for a whole turn is kind of embarrassing at this stage of the war.....

To Europe now, and there is not much progress to be made here with a Front devoid of HQ, tanks and aircraft. However this isn't top priority at this stage....

In the Southern Ukraine there's some success this turn as a Romanian army was destroyed. No bridgehead across the Dnepr was possible but it was a welcome 'hit' regardless.

A reasonable turn given no aircraft and some of my artillery was out of position. No losses to the Germans, but three corps were weakened and I believe the northern-most panzergrenadier unit is depleted.

A new HQ (Zhukov) has arrived from the Far East.

Last but not least, the British take Rhodes, not because its a particular target, but the troops are doing nothing and there is the hope of reducing Italian morale...

I think you only lose NM for hexes marked "NM Objective." Japan's NM must be falling fast with all of the objectives you've been taking. The allies MMP totals also reflect the resources they've been capturing from Japan. Sorry that your invasion did not work out but Germany is taking losses and you always have the summer of 44. :)

It was a painful turn for the Soviets - particularly in the south where the destruction of a Romanian Army saw two Soviets armies destroyed...

But we start in the NEI, where Japanese resistance has almost come to an end.

The P.I is cleared out with the destruction of the last Japanese unit - the airborne corps.

Northern and Central China continue to yield Japanese dead. The two surrounded units in Central China were eliminated without problem, but the south sees no progress possible.
