Allies win initiative but Axis calls for a reroll and wins.
Axis Impulse #1
With a roll of 8, there is Rain in Arctic and N. Temperate, Storm in N. Monsoon, and fine in Med, S. Monsoon and S. Temperate.
Japan and Italy take Naval Actions. Germany takes a Land.
Italy moves a NAV into the 3 box of the Italian Coast. Japan moves 2 FTRs into the 4 box of the Coral Sea.
During Naval moves, Japan moves to confront the US forces in the Coral Sea. A SUB fleet is moved SE of Brisbane to the Tasmanian Sea. The remaining Italian Surface fleet moves to the 3-Box of the Italian Coast. A SUB moves from Bordeaux to the North Atlantic.
Combat is activated in the Italian Coast with the CW getting 2 surprise. This is used to increase Air-Air combat. In the air combat, the Italian NAV is aborted. In the Naval air attack, a BB, CA and CL are aborted. 1 BB is left. Italy aborts from the combat.
Japan finds with 2 surprise in the Coral Sea. A lucky 3 by the USA destroys the front FTR, but it in trun is also destroyed. 4 CVP bombers clear for Japan. Japan uses surprise to negate AAA. The USA rolls 1/1 die for AAA. An American CV and CA are destroyed while a BB is aborted and a CA is damaged. The USA takes a chance and chooses to stay, and has the fortune that neither side finds the other.
No Strat Bombings are done nor are there any Ground Strike attempts.
Germany moves latest builds towards Italy and Russia and works HQ to make certain everything is in supply.

Allied Impulse #3
The USA takes a Super-combined while France and the CW take a Naval Action. Russia and China take Land Actions.
Allies do a lot of convoy protection and send many TRSs into the Italian Coast along with a huge surface fleet. Other units destined for England are lifted from Algeria by TRS and more are sent from the USA. Notably, a PARA is transported to Sardinia to an awaiting ATR.
The USA initiates in the Coral Sea and both sides find with all units in the zone. The USA has 3 surprise points. The end result is Japanese Bombers are aborted while the US suffers a destroyed and aborted FTR. Both sides abort at the end with no bombers left to clear. Neither side finds in the next round.
Incidentally, the CW finds an isolated Vichy cp floating off the coast of West Africa and destroys it.
Both sides find in the Tasman Sea. 2 SUBs are aborted while a CW CA is damaged. An attempt to activate a 2nd round of combat fails.
The Naval phase ends at this juncture.

No Strat bombing is undertaken. China does a GS against an OOS Japanese unit. The USA GS a unit near the toe of Italy. These go unintercepted and there are no others given the poor weather and positioning of interceptors. The Chinese fail while the USA strike disorganizes a unit.
Russian rails a small MIL to Vlad. Russia moves various units along the front lines, but the weather means some air is out of supply and unable to do much this turn. In China, the communists take vacated hexes. Nationalist China also stands pat with the weather meaning many units would be disorganized if they moved. US moves some units into a vacated hex on the boot of Italy. A unit is debarked onto the hex controlled by the Allies on the toe of Italy.
The USA launches 2 Invasions adjacent to Taranto and another on Tarawa in the Pacific. Except for the invasions, no land attacks are declared. Shore bombardment is added as needed while escorted Ground Support is added. The Italian/Germans elect to send Ground support and escorts to 1 of 2 invasion points, hoping that a win there will cause a problem for the attackers. An air combat ensues. An Italian FTR and LND are destroyed and the others aborted while all allied bombers are cleared with no losses.
The attack on Tarawa is automatic. The northernmost attack in Italy is successful with no losses. The southern one leads to 1 loss and 1 unit disorganized.
Russia rebases a couple of A/C into better positions. The USA rebases the Widow forward into the Pacific and moves a couple of other air forward. It reorganizes naval units in Pearl and Brisbane.
The impulse ends.

Axis Impulse #5
Weather is Fine everywhere.
Germany and Italy take Lands while Japan takes a combined action.
Japan does port strikes on Brisbane and Espiritu Santo. An air combat ensues over the island. 1 Japanese bomber is destroyed while a bomber gets through. Both American CVP are aborted. In Espiritu Santo, 1 TRS is damaged and a CA is aborted. Over Brisbane, AAA destroys a CVP. A BB, CA and CP are all aborted.
In the Coral Sea, only the allies find in the first round. They choose Naval Air and increase AA attack value. The Japanese FTR and American CVP mutually destroy each other with both pilots bailing from the combat. The USA chooses to abort the sea zone as no more CVP are there.
There is no strategic bombing done. Japan does 2 ART strikes Southwest of Nanning. Neither target is inverted.
Germany and Italy work at strengthening the defenses in the area of Taranto. Germany shores up its Russian Front, especially in the North. Japan moves units in Burma and debarks an INF div in Port Moresby. No attacks are declared.
Italy rebases an LND from Russia to an airbase in Greece 2 hexes west of Athens. Germany rebases an FTR-3 near Ploesti and a strong FTR to Tirana in Albania. Kesselring, in Italy, reorganizes a strong Italian FTR. The Japanese use 2 TRS to reorganize a SUB in Rabaul.

Re: Solo AAR for Global War

Allied Impulse #6
All the western Allies take combined actions while China and Russia take lands. Russia uses an OFF Chit on Zhukov.
CW picks up the MAR near the toe of Italy and sits waiting in the Italian Coast. The USA moves its small fleet and some escorts into the Solomons 4-box.
No naval activations are done.
The CW does an escorted Strat bombing run against Dusseldorf which is, in turn, intercepted. The interceptor is destroyed and all bombers clear without ill effects. A roll of 3 results in only 1 BP being deducted from German production.
Russia GS attempt on Kiev with a doubled ART-4 and a hex east of Vitebsk. The Communist Chinese attempt to strike Tungkwan in North China. China does a GS in the South. The attempt near Vitebsk is intercepted and countered. The German FTR is aborted and so the LND clears. For Kiev, only 1 unit is disorganized while near Smolensk, 2 of 3 are flipped. All other attempts fail.
Russia works to get a decent odds attack in the hex near Vitebsk and on Dnepropetrovsk. The Communist Chinese work around Tungkwan. The Western Allies look to do an attack on Taranto by land and sea.
The Western Allies debark a couple of units. Otherwise, there is an invasion of Taranto. Russia does a PARA mission onto Dnepropetrovsk. It is intercepted and countered. A roll of 17 by Germany destroys the ATR and the abort of the FTR really does not matter after that.
Attacks are declared by the Soviets on a hex near Vitebsk in the north and on Dnepropetrovsk in the south (with many doubled units). Communist China declares on Tungkwan. The Western Allies attack Taranto with maximum shore bombardment. McArthur adds HQ support as does Vatutin in southern Russia.
Ground Support is added in various hexes and countered. Over Taranto, an American LND is destroyed while an Italian FTR is likewise brought down (sorry, no screen shot for this). Over Smolensk, 2 Axis LND are cleared and another destroyed while the Russians have an LND and FTR destroyed with nothing cleared through. Finally, over Dnepropetrovsk, both sides clear a bomber while the Axis lose 2 and Russia loses a FTR.
Land attack resolution will be next post.

Land combat resolution continues...
In Taranto, the Allies lose 2 MOT div but take the hex with MacArthur and 1 other unit being disorganized. Near Vitebsk, the Russians lose 1 MECH div and are disorganized. The Germans lose a MOT div. As for Dnepropetrovsk, the Russians take it without a loss or disruption and destroy the defenders, except for 1 shattered. Against Tungkwan in China, the attackers lose a MIL and are disorganized while Japan suffers no losses.
The USA rebases the Widow to Espiritu Santo. The Russians reorganize a number of units.

Axis Impulse #7
Weather roll is a 10 giving Storm in N. Monsoon, Arctic and Temperate, Rain in Med and S. Monsoon, and Fine in S. Temperate.
Germany and Italy take combineds while Japan takes a Land Action.
Japan moves an FTR into the 4-Box in the Coral Sea. Germany moves SUBs into the Faeroes Gap and Bay of Biscay.
In the Faroes, the Allies find with 4 surprise and initiate surface combat with the surprise used to increase Naval Combat. 1 CW escort is damaged and another aborted. Both German SUBs are damaged. In the Bay of Biscay, the allies have 10 surprise. 2 points mitigate against an abort and the rest is used to increase Naval Column in attack. The 8 armour SUB manages to roll a 10 and is simply damaged. In a second round, a lone German SUB manages to find with 7 surprise and chooses SUB combat. It mitigates damage down to an abort using 4 points and saves 3 points and selects the Langley for a damage roll. (forgot a screen shot of this combat). The next roll fails.
Italy rails Balbo to Italy. Japan rails a couple of Inf class units to the Northern front in China. Germany rails a unit from Western Europe to Italy. Japan moves units along the various fronts (Burma, Central China). Germany moves units in Southern Italy to cover some obvious holes. Italy does a minor land move with its ART and HQ in Russia.
Japan rebases an FTR further to the front in Burma. Italy rebase some FTRs in Italy and brings an LND in Russia back to Italy. Germany does some moves a FTR in Albania to Italy proper adn rebases an LND to there as well. Germany reorganizes a number of FTR in the South of Russia.
The turn ends on a 1<2.

Initiative goes to the Allies. No reroll allowed.
Allied Impulse #1
Weather is Blizzard in the Arctic, Snow in the N. Temperate, Storm in the Med and S. Monsoon and Fine in the N.
Monsoon and S. Temperate.
Russia and China take a Land, USA a combined and CW/France a Naval.
For Naval, the USA moves some units to reinforce the Solomons and Italian Coast sea zones as well as sending some loaded TRS across the waves. CW and France do some transporting of their own as well as covering CP lines as much as they can with the limits placed on the US for their combined.
There were no successful naval activations.
No Strategic bombing was done. China does a GS with ART against a hex 2 hexes NW of Nanning. Russia does a number of GS in southern Russia. One is intercepted and A/C combat ensues and both Russian bombers are cleared with no damage to either side. With a remarkable ability to roll nothing below a 4, none of the Ground Struck units are disorganized.
A Russian Tashkent Militia is railed to the far East. Moves are made to set up attacks on the Russian Front. There are only minor movements in the far east by the Communists and Nationalists. The USA takes another port on the heel of Italy. Two more units disembark there as well.
3 attacks are set for Russia - 1 east of Vitebsk, another west of Gomel, and a final one SE of Kiev. Russia adds ground support near Kiev which goes unintercepted. The Germans do not intervene, nor do they add their own support.
West of Gomel, the hex is taken with the loss of a MECH and disorganization, while the Germans are retreated disorganized. SE of Kiev is a disaster with an ENG and MOT both destroyed. Equally bad is near Vitebsk with the loss of a MOT and no effect on defenders while also being disorganized although 1 Axis unit, a MOT, is also destroyed.
Rebases by the CW and USA are done to move A/C with low range into Italy proper and to unload a couple of A/C into Great Britain. Russia reorganizes a number of units that were disorganized in attacks.
Initiative goes to the Allies. No reroll allowed.

Axis Impulse #4
Germany takes a Land, Italy a Combined and Japan a Naval Action.
Italy moves a SUB into Cape St. Vincent. Japan moves to cover convoys and protect sea areas it has a presence in, notable in the Coral Sea and of the coast of Burma.
In CSV, the CW escort finds but uses that opportunity to avoid combat as it is a 1 sea factor unit.
Japan finds off the New Zealand Coast with 10 surprise and chooses a SUB combat to stop the effect of the Black Widow in the 0 box. 2 more reduce damage and the other 3 are used to make certain the two convoys in the area are sunk. As no SUBs are committed in the next phase, combat ends.
A USA search of the Solomon's for a sneaky Japanese CA fails and the naval phase ends.
There is no Strategic Bombing. Japan tries a GS on an isolated Indian MECH in Burma. It goes unintercepted and fails anyhow needing a 2 or less.
Germany rails a MTN into northern Russia and Kesselring is railed to southern Italy from near Rome to set supply for them up. Germany moves more units towards Russia and also moves various units in Italy to set up a withdrawl from the toe as units are in short supply for all fronts. Russia sees movement to close some gaps in the defenses.
Air bases are done to adequately cover factories and to move more to the Front in Russia. Germany uses two HQs in the north to reorganize some of its units.
Axis Impulse #4
Germany takes a Land, Italy a Combined and Japan a Naval Action.

Allied Impulse #7
With a roll of 1, the weather is Fine everywhere but the Artic.
All Allied powers take Land except for France which takes a combined action.
The CW does a port strike on La Spezia. The Axis gain 8 surprise and avoid the attack.
No Naval Movement occurs and no STRAT bombing is undertaken.
The USA does 2 GS in southern Italy, one LND against the toe, and another west of Taranto. Russia does an ART GS west of Dnepropetrovsk, an LND SE of Kiev and another East of Nikolayev. None are intercepted. Results are 2 of 3 units disorganized near Kiev, all three units near Dnepropetrovsk (with 5 factor ART), and none near Nikolayev. The US strikes in Italy are complete failures.
The CW rails some units from Eastern India to the western part, including Gort HQ. There is a general shifting around of units in Burma and Southern Italy by the CW. Similarly, in southern Italy, by the USA. Both move units about in the UK as well. China moves a CAV to threaten Ichang. Russia moves units generally to get decent attack possibilities.
Paradrops are initiated west of Taranto by the USA, in the mountains, and SE of Kiev by Russia. Both are intercepted and countered. Near Kiev, the Axis FTR is destroyed and the PARA cleared. Near Taranto, 1 US FTR is destroyed but the PARA is cleared when the German FTR aborts.
Shore bombardment is added to an attack by the Allies on the toe of Italy. Ground support, unintercepted, is added to all attacks in Italy. In Russia, air combat occurs over a hex beside Kiev and one adjacent to Dnepropetrovsk. Near Kiev, a FTR is destroyed and a FTR aborted on each side while the Russian LND clears. Near Dnepropetrovsk, all Axis air is aborted and both sides abort.
