1. I do have a counter in WIF
2. I am included in the set up for Global War but I am not always set up in Global War games.
3. I was victorious in a single ship action during WWII.
Warspite1

The second clue is intriguing. I thought ships either were or weren't set up, there is no element of chance like with ground units. Mmmmmmm....

Can I ask for a bit of clarification; do you mean she was successful in a ship vs ship engagement, i.e. one ship on each side?

maybe it is part of cruisers in flames or ships in flames

im thinking of that ship that fought Sidney ..cant remember her name
the wif rulebook is my bible

Yes. She won a ship vs ship engagement.

I think that these three clues might be enough to guess the ship I am looking for. It can't
be many that qualify for all three clues.

Admiral Hipper Vs Glowworm (April 1940).

You mean Kormoran - she sank as well so can't really say she won.

No, not Kormoran. But you are correct in how you think. [:)]

I am not sure that I would call Kormoran victorious since she was scuttled as a result of the battle with HMAS Sydney.

You are correct. [:)]

The ships you mention are all Leander Class Cruisers. You knowledge is great. Therefore I am a bit amazed that you missed that the ship I was looking for was HMNZS Leander. Did you miss clue 4?

The ship versus ship battle that HMNZS Leander won was against the Italian auxiliary cruiser Ramb I.

Orm, the picture is a give away as RN cruisers with one funnel was a rarity, making the class easily identifiable, but yes, I did forget that clue [&:].

I was just about to answer 7th Fallschirmjäger Division. But it can't be since I belive it fought mainly on the western front.
