Well, I had my first colonoscopy this morning. After they drugged me up, I was still aware enough to know what they were doing, but I really didn't give a rats ***. The worst part was not eating anything solid for 2 days. One day was required and 2 were suggested. That second day made a big difference though. When I took the stuff to clean me out, there wasn't much to clean out. [:D]

By the way, I'm clean as a whistle. No more of that fun for 10 years. [:D]

I had that done earlier in the year, did they use the new one, or the old Annal Intruder 2000? [:D]

Congratulations on the Clean driveway there also Mike. [:)]

Definitely the old one. They say it's less expensive. If they find an issue with the new procedure, they have to go back in with the old one to remove it. Doing it all at once is better, so they say. Now that I have a clean bill of health on the pipes, I'm ok. Just can't eat enough though. Still hungry and trying to avoid eating everything in sight. [:D]

I had my first one something like 10 years ago-a history of colorectal cancer in the family elevated their interest in my innards I guess.

Lesson #1: Get general anaesthesia. The jackwads used a very mild sedative on me that had no appreciable effect. For any non-pharmacology-trained medical professionals out there: sedatives don't do squat for pain and cramping, they just lower your mentation status a bit.

Lesson #2: Mix vodka in with the 'colon blow' stuff they get you to drink next time. I drank it straight, like a sucker.

Anyways, glad that's behind (snicker) you now, Mike.

Had my first one of those about 10 years ago. Pretty much as you say; except for that one little white pill you take the night before. Can you say horror show?

Nik, will your car insurance cover much of the costs?

nope. Its all my own nickle

Colonoscopys.....fun stuff. had one over four years ago. they tell me that its every 4 years...not 10 you should get checked. Unfortunately, we live in the land of no health insurance. Hopefully i'm still "clean"

The interview I had last week is officially a job offer now. [8D] It will eventually require moving however. It's also a big raise. Guess there is a discussion in order.

My family has zero history of cancer so I'm putting that butt-diving stuff off as long as possible. And I ain't doing the prostate exam stuff either. PSA tests only. It's a much better indicator according to the latest studies.

Yup. When I saw that the colonoscope was made had Louisville Slugger engraved on it, I knew it would be a rough afternoon.

Ba-dum-bump. Thanks folks. I'll be here all week.

Toledo?! Have you ever been there. They couldn't pay me enough. Well, maybe they could, but it would have to be awfully high. The place is a pit. I hope the job is a good one.

That's good news brother Brush-hat. [:)]

Even if you don't take the job, it's always good to know that you obviously have same qualifications that are wanted.
