No, very quiet there. We are repositioning the CVs in hopes of catching the little CVs the Japs have in the area. A slower pace in this area is allowing us to build it up better for the future.

I don't think they are planning to be aggressive in the SOPAC area. All indications point to a heavy effort to close out the DEI and western Australia quick. Notice the armor regiments landed at Darwin and I maybe one at Broome. Those are units they would need to go after India I think, so the whole India gambit MAY be off the table with a big push on Western Australia potentially on the books (taking Ceylon and eastern Inida however is a real threat). I am reinforcing Diego Garcia with a CD unit and a Bde, as well as moving Bdes to eastern India and looking to land forces at Akyab given I think it will be too late to get them into Rangoon.

I am planning to send an Aussie division from Aden to Perth in the coming week. I am moving forces to deal with the threat, but recommend we move a US Division and some BFs to Australia ASAP given the low activity in SOPAC and high liklihood of action in Australia. Need a BF at PM. Will finish unloading the CD there in the next turn or two, so am short support and AV support.

The 3rd AVG is due in Bombay in 3 days, so by the 5th day there should be enough P-40Es to upgrade. That will release 13 H-81s to reconstitute your boys in Chungking for the time being.

The KB can go quite a while before getting low on sorties. I have surprised enemy CVs before when they thought I was gone to reload. So be careful in that area.

As for sub deployment here are some areas to look at in the Celebes Sea

It is only a stop gap measure with the H-81s.

Intent is to get you with all three AVG squadrons. And it will take time to both accumulate airframes for conversion and support operations.

Need to be judicious with the P-40Es and not "burn through them" as we need to use P-40Es in Australia. Can't sustain the loss rate wiith them that we have had with the H-81s. (56 A2A and 24 ops in a little over a month).

Pretty soon, we will have 4 USN carriers in the SoPac. I see Harvey has sortied his carriers from Colombo. We have 5 fleet carriers out and about now...

NoPac – Another 14k fuel delivering to Kodiak, when TF 397 returns to Seattle it will take fuel to Seward as Dutch is near capacity. Supplies, the 42nd Const. Bde and an AVD are on the way to Dutch. This should boost the capacity there. Shuttle supplying the small bases up and down the AK/CA coast. ASW patrols harassing I boats and even scoring some hits.

USA – March Field gets another aviation unit. We are upgrading the Airfield there. Should be a good place to train pilots! We now have the BB Mississippi available at San Fran. She is set for an upgrade in just over four months. If we don’t need her somewhere else, I recommend we keep her here until we upgrade her. We also have the Warspite here also. Harvey, what do you want to do with her?
- 8th PG/HQ is moving to SF to join the rest of the group. They will be ready to load and head out with the Americal Division.
- BB Colorado is also available at Seattle, going to move her to SF to join her sister escorted by a Canadian KV which will then take some xAKLs back to Seattle for use in NoPac.
- TF99 just southwest of LA about 9 hexes is a multi destination TF. It has units for Suva, Noumea, and Port Moresby. It’s plot is set to go by each of them on the way to PM. The plan is to split off the minimal ships to go to each respective port as the main TF passes by. Maximizes our escorts!

China – Just waiting for the axe to fall here. Moving units out of the open into the woods where I can. This will improve our chances.

Pago-Pago – TF 316 is collecting ships as they empty and will return to LA with them. Should be done tomorrow and on its way. Tankers need to empty as they don’t hold enough to spoil on the beach. They will bunch together for the trip back to LA as they are 18 kts and don’t need to be in a slow convoy like the xAKs that will be leaving in a day or two. She made a level 3 port which will help with our unloading in the future.

ANZAC resource convoys are working as planned. A 99k convoy is 11 days out of Sydney.
