Here's that really cool chart with all kinds of numbers on it. I'm guessing HI points are really really low and that I need to bump up the HI production because oil and resources are in the millions and HI is still not even 100K yet.

Here's another view of Resources. I'm starting to think I ought to move a tanker-full of oil from Saigon to Bangkok because B. is steadily going lower in oil.

At game start I wasn't producing any Kates and had to bump up production of them. Here in turn 8 I see 2 more planes in the pool than there was at start which means I'm putting out Kates finally, and at the rate of approx. 8 planes per month. Which isn't nearly enough but it's better than nothing. I'm guessing I need to bump it up some more yet.

According to this image I'm just barely keeping up with Naval Shipyard needs and I probably need to bump it up somewhat. There's hardly any points in the pool.
Which implies that I need to bump up the HI output also. I'm guessing.

Here's a view of the Victory Points screen. I'm starting to get an appreciable sum of Political Points that I can spend on something. Any suggestions?

Hi, you produce a few HI points, you can try to stop some of the 'armaments' industry (around 200/250 points)*
or merchant shipyard (it depends on how you pay for the actual production); ensuring that the various pool is
not going to be empty you can save a lot of HI points (an acceptable quantity is around +3.000/4.000 HI points).
In the document 'JEcon 101' in the 'War room' thread you can find an excellent guide for it. Banzai!

*Following the JEcon guide, in my pbem I stopped 240 armaments industry, I have a lot
of ground losses and in the 55th turn my armament pool contain 18.000 points, only
2.000 points less the game start

In two weeks, on 1/1/42, you're going to be charged the pilot tax in HI points. Right now that number is 20545 if I read this correctly. So you don't have as many HI points as you think. You pay the pilot tax every month. It's a big consideration early on.

You have some N1 models to bridge the gap if you're in an emergency. According to tRacker you make 6 N2s per month, not 8, right now. You make .2 of a plane per day. I think there's a random in there somewhere to handle round-off, but a production expert could say for sure. As your Repair of 14 is worked off and comes on line your production will go over a plane per day (but not quite two; 20 per month) so long as you have engines and the rest.

Oh yeah. I was forgetting about not having all the repair repaired yet. No Kate bump up needed. Thanks Bullwinkle dude.

According to the picture below I'm producing the Nakajima Ha-35 at a rate of 186 / month. This is the engine used by the Kate. So I need to figure out which planes are using the same engine and total them up to see if 186 / month is enough.

And just as I thought it might, Tracker has figured all that out for us. If I'm reading this image correctly it recomends a build rate of 166 engines per month for all the planes using that engine. So 186 engines per month will put some in the pool for me. Yes?

And now back to the game. I was going through the list of TF's and got to this one where there is a situation in which one of my subs ran across a welcoming committee and I think I'll back him off just a tad and see what they do. So many DD's in one place.....what's that imply? Admitedly the AI doesn't have to have a reason to congregate DD's on one spot like a human might. Maybe they spotted him and are there to do a search and destroy mission. I'm not sure they were there when the sub got there or if they moved there afterwards.

Here we have the CVE Taiyo with only DB's aboard sailing to meet that task force that was originally going to Midway w/o escorts. I have some escorts going to meet them in mid-ocean and the CVE will put the cap on their escort needs.

Here's the KB coming within range of Wake. The aircraft were given missions like airfield attack, ground attack, sweep, and escort. I've got a float plane on recon, and I expect the whole package to be launched perhaps tonight or tomorrow morning.

I've constructed a TF that has some surface combatants and some minesweepers and I'm going to run them into the minefield at Hong Kong to see if I can't sweep the mines to enable the bombardment of the land troops at some future date. Hey it might work.

So um......I pulled the trigger and what you say, ran the turn, and here's what happened at Hong Kong:

TF 545 encounters mine field at Hong Kong (77,61) - Coastal Guns Fire Back!

46 Coastal gun shots fired in defense.

This is what happened at Kuantan yesterday. I'm planning another DA for tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll own the place pretty soon.

This is minor compared to what would happen at Bataan. There they'd be a cloud of dust falling upon the sea. CD guns really do work. Minesweeping is for after you take the base IMO.
