North of Moscow the front gets pushed south. The front south of Kaluga holds firm. I keep attacking out of Moscow.

North of Moscow he is getting close to Rzhev. II Corps will have to cushion the blow. The rest of the front holds firm.

Trying to hold on to Rostov for as long as possible. Tanks are still sheltered in Stalino.

This illustrates the power of fortifications during blizzard. 6 rifle divisions under one army are not enough. They don't even make a dent.

He continues to crush me north of Rzhev. The situation is getting problematic. One additional Panzer Corps has been moved into this sector. The rest of the front is solid. I continue to attack out of strong points.

Attempts to encircle Kharkov are underway. Almost all new replacements will be funneled into this sector. Holding Kharkov is my top priority.

Sadly, I have to abandon Rostov otherwise my troops will get encircled.

I was surprised you were able to hold at Rostov as long as you did, in view of the thin defenses you had around Voroshilovgrad not too far to the north. But apparently the heaviest Soviet attacks are in the Moscow area, very broadly.

Things are heating up in the north. I am not particularly worried. Terrain is in my favor.

Things are really heating up north of Moscow. I have to abandon Rzhev which is a real blow. Between Moscow and Orel it is very quiet.
