Hi, Helsinki, Or Narva, Pyskov and Vyborg. Helsinki is auto the other depends but I don't think SS Elite are in Finland but it might take a month before they quit. But...Finland surrendered in game where I only had Vyborg but had beat up their army. I was outside Narva and 20 miles from Pyskov

Hi, I wanted to edit my last post but I get a display where only half my post is showing.
I wanted to add that a few posts back you said Pelton does not mind losing the Finns. Where does he think all those unemployed Soviet formations are going to go? The Finns are tying down a large force that you will be free to do with what you want.

I believe he has stated before he will give up the Fins to put all resources in his German fall back lines.

I also read that capture of any Fin town will also cause a finish surrender calculation.

Taking Vyborg does the trick - at least it used to.

RE: 92 german attacks south

Post by BrianG »

3rd week of march. Will mud hit in April?

We are playing variable weather.

His attacks down here need to be blunted asap as I can not chance losing these troops.

He has 17 panzer/mot units down here counterattacking my breakthrough.

That may be enough to cut me off. My units from the Stalino cannot possible link up before mud sets in.

I have no reserves south of the isthmus.

I think my chance of successfully gaining a hex West of the Deneiper is drying up.

92 south final

Post by BrianG »

I push his units East and rout 2.

I have a 1% fort line which I fill defensively.

He will have a ruff time figuring out if he can make the cut off.

You seem to make a habit of getting caught coming too far out of the Crimea.

94 Finland

Post by BrianG »

I possess town inside Finnish border.

From reading the rules that should be sufficient to start getting surrender roles.

Or have I read it wrong. Does it have to be a certain mp's to RR? The closet RR repair is near the NE Fin/USSR border.

I will hold this town for 3 turns and no surrender. I am about to open the next.

I am not sure his Capital garrison. It could be SS as we are in mud.

Brian,
I think you might need to have also captured the town of Narva & possibly Pskov before you can force a Finnish surrender

That was one way to get surrender roll.

A second way to get the surrender roll, as I read it, is to control a town in Finland.

Do I read incorrectly?

I think the town needs to be 30 mp from rr.

This is from amended rule which only mentions cities.

The main rule says town/city in Finland should cause surrender roll.

The 30 mp rule came later. 100 mp if capital city.

We are in mud so length will shrink as clear occurs.
