Allied Sub Halibut attack 300nm ESE of Okinawa. This time it’s CV Hiryu, 1 Torpedo hits, she’s reported on fire and down by the bow. She close enough to Osaka that she’ll likely make it with about 35 floatation damage.

In their fury, the DD screen for Hiryu finds the sub, and punishes Halibut with 2 depth charges. ComSubPac is relieved to hear an AAR from Halibut on station hours later.

-Lexington is progressing slowly. It should be September maybe when she's battle-worthy again.
-Saratoga is still a slow going, apparently the repair yard workers are on strike. It'll likely be Jan 43 before she's in service again.
-Wasp is due near the end of July, along with some AA cruisers and BB USS North Carolina; that makes me happy. More firepower to keep Mogami in check until I can start an offensive, which won't be much before October 42.

-Hiryu is likely laid up for a while after getting torp'd a few days ago.

That still leaves 3 Fleet CVs, 2 smaller CVs {Junyo and Hiyo} and a few CVLs. Still a threat, but a manageable one.

July will see the last of the Dutch East Indies swallowed up, followed likely by New Guinea.
