Screening Rabaul...so that they can get the bulk of the 16th Division fast transported in...this destroyer squadron is set to low threat...

RE: Gnashing of Teeth: Cries of Fury
Mission accomplished...another 145 mines dropped at Rabaul and the 16th arrives in fighting trim evening up the raw AV.
During the day the base is swept by at least 10 Allied fighter squadrons...but no bombers.
The screening destroyers make good their escape...at least for now.

RE: Gnashing of Teeth: Cries of Fury
I wonder if that Nasty Destroyer squadron stopped short to avoid the mines at Rabaul, or the screening destroyer squadron was able to strip it of just enough operations points...because in Rabaul harbor (damaged as it is) an AMC and AK-t are unloading....needless to say all operations cancelled and flank speed away!
But just north is a very strong, 2 CA 14 DD SAG that will make Rabaul today and they are undetected. Yesterday they dropped off a huge load of the 16th Division.
Also, at Feni is 4 destroyers un-detected. They will disband in port, and hide...perhaps tomorrow will offer some opportunity.

Quite a fair bit of carnage in the first week of October. Thankfully, most of it is Allied.
But, really, nothing of great significance. [:(]

Up near Katha, the Allies moved all 9 units to the west to attack my poor lonely blockers...and now I fear if he sets some of his units to pursuit they may arrive on the road between Katha and Shwebo and really devastate my AA holding the road...could be in for a nasty setback here.
Turn is away, and I didn't take a picture of it...sorry.
Also those 11 units on the plains are forcing the river south of Magwe now...
